Abstract

Meinstruatiion iis a natural proceiss that occurs iin womein, nameily thei diischargei of blood physiiologiically and peiriiodiically from thei uteirus to thei vagiinal mucosa. Thei meinstrual cyclei iis thei peiriiod beitweiein thei fiirst day of onei peiriiod and thei fiirst day of thei neixt iinteirval. Onei of thei factors that can affeict thei meinstrual cyclei iis body mass iindeix. Thiis study aiims to deiteirmiinei thei reilatiionshiip beitweiein BMIi and meinstrual cyclei diisordeirs iin class 2019 feimalei studeints at thei Faculty of Meidiiciinei, Muhammadiiyah Uniiveirsiity, North Sumatra.Thiis typei of reiseiarch iis an obseirvatiional analytiic study wiith a cross-seictiional study deisiign. Thiis reiseiarch was conducteid on all feimalei studeints iin thei 2019 iintakei of thei Faculty of Meidiiciinei, Uniiveirsiity of Muhammadiiyah Sumatra. Data colleictiion useid a purposiivei sampliing teichniiquei wiith a total of 88 reispondeints. Baseid on thei reisults of thei correilatiion teist usiing thei Speiarman correilatiion, thei reilatiionshiip beitweiein BMIi and thei Meinstrual Cyclei obtaiineid a siigniifiicancei valuei of 0.023. At a correilatiion coeiffiiciieint of 0.242, or iincludeid iin thei low criiteiriia. Theirei iis a reilatiionshiip beitweiein BMIi and thei meinstrual cyclei as iindiicateid by a p-valuei <0.05.

Abstract

Introduction: Insomnia is a condition in which a person has difficulty sleeping, both in terms of quantity and quality. Despite having sufficient sleep duration, individuals with insomnia still cannot achieve adequate sleep. Insomnia can be influenced by body weight, and one of the indicators used to assess a person's nutritional status based on body weight is the Body Mass Index (BMI). Methods: This research is a descriptive analytical study with a cross sectional design, utilizing a sample of 96 participants. The sample is divided into 3 strata, and the data analysis in this research employs univariate and bivariate tests, with the Chi-Square correlation test. Results: The research results indicate that the most common age group was 15 years old, with 37 participants (38.5%), and the majority of respondents were female, totaling 62 individuals (64.6%). The majority of respondents did not experience insomnia, totaling 43 individuals (44.8%), while 30 individuals (31.2%) experienced mild insomnia, 21 individuals (21.9%) experienced moderate insomnia, and 2 individual (2.1%) experienced severe insomnia. Furthermore, the BMI category with the highest prevalence was overweight, with 36 individuals (37.5%), followed by the normal BMI category with 34 individuals (35.4%), the underweight category with 13 individuals (13.5%), and the obese category with 13 individuals (13.5%). Based on the results of the Chi-Square, p = 0.001 (p 0.05) for relationship between insomnia symptoms and BMI. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between insomnia symptoms and BMI among the students of MAN 1 Medan.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Remaja merupakan masa penting dalam melakukan pemantauan status gizi. Faktor yang dapat memengaruhi status gizi seseorang yaitu emotional eating. Cara sederhana yang dapat diterapkan untuk menentukan status gizi pada remaja adalah dengan mengukur Indeks Masa Tubuh (IMT). Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan emotional eating dengan status gizi pada remaja SMAS Muhammadiyah 02 Medan. Metode: Sumber data yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang akan diperoleh dari sumber utamanya dengan menggunakan kuesioner Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) dan melakukan pengukuran BB serta TB. Hasil : status gizi overweight-obesitas cenderung mempunyai tingkat emotional eating yang tinggi, diikuti oleh remaja yang memiliki tingkat emotional eating yang sedang. Sedangkan remaja yang tingkat emotional eatingnya termasuk kedalam kriteria rendah adalah remaja yang memiliki status gizi normal. Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan antara emotional eating dengan status gizi. Kata Kunci: Emotional eating, remaja, status gizi

Abstract

Self-esteem refers to an individual's perception of how they evaluate or value themselves. This evaluation can be either positive or negative. Body Mass Index (BMI) is the ideal body weight calculated from an individual's weight and height. Weight is used as an indicator to assess nutritional status and the growth and development of children. This study is a descriptive analytic research with a cross-sectional design. The research examines the relationship between self-esteem and Body Mass Index (BMI) levels in adolescent female students by administering the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) questionnaire as a measurement tool. The study sample consists of 80 participants, divided into three strata. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate Chi-Square tests. The results of the test showed a significant relationship between self-esteem and Body Mass Index (BMI) levels in adolescent female students at Muhammadiyah 2 Private High School in Medan, with a significant p-value of 0.001 (p0.05). In addition, the study also assessed demographic characteristics to understand the proportion of self-esteem and BMI levels in adolescent female students at Muhammadiyah 2 Private High School in Medan. A significant relationship was found between self-esteem and Body Mass Index (BMI) levels in adolescent female students at Muhammadiyah 2 Private High School in Medan.
