Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that class VIII students at MTsS Nagari Gantung Ciri had difficulty understanding between fiction and non-fiction books and their division including the elements within them. This research aims to describe the ability to study the elements of fiction and non-fiction books for class VIII students at MTsS Nagari Gantung Ciri for the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection techniques are: the teacher gives fiction and non-fiction discourse to students, the teacher gives students time to read fiction and non-fiction discourse for approximately 20 minutes, the teacher explains the material of the two books, the teacher checks students' understanding of the books they have read, the students Answering questions on a sheet of paper, the teacher asks students to collect the answer sheets they have worked on. Data analysis techniques are: the researcher reads the student's test results, the researcher examines the student's answer sheet which has been done based on the assessment indicators, the researcher determines the student's score, the researcher converts the raw score into a value, describes the student's ability to examine elements of fiction and non-fiction books, describes the student's ability in examining the elements of fiction and non-fiction books on a scale of 10, making histograms, concluding research results in the form of a thesis. Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be seen that (1) students' ability to examine the intrinsic elements of fiction books is in good qualifications with an average score of 81.58. (2) students' ability to examine nonfiction elements is in good qualifications with an average score of 81.74. So, it can be concluded that students' ability to examine elements of fiction and non-fiction books for class VIII students at MTsS Nagari Gantung Ciri for the 2022/2023 academic year is in good qualifications with an average of 81.66.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to identify the elements of drama texts for class VIII Semester II students at SMP Negeri 4 Lembang Jaya for the 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is quantitative research using descriptive methods. The population of this research was class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Lembang Jaya, Solok Regency. The research sample for class VIII C students registered in that academic year was 72 people, with a sample size of 24 people. The research sampling technique was carried out using a purposive sampling technique by taking subjects from each stratum or each region determined to be balanced or comparable with the number of subjects in each stratum or region. The data collection technique in this research is a performance test. Data analysis techniques include reading, correcting and scoring student test results, converting raw scores into grades, classifying student grades on a scale of 10, making a histogram, and summarizing the results in the form of a thesis. The results of the research on the ability to identify the elements of a drama text, the average score of students' ability to identify plot elements, namely 94.33, is in very good qualifications, students' ability to identify elements of characterization, namely 95.75, is in very good qualifications, students' ability to identify dialogue elements, namely 100, are in perfect qualifications, students' ability to identify elements, namely 100, is in perfect qualifications, students' ability to identify theme elements is 55.04, is in almost sufficient qualifications, students' ability to identify message elements, namely 88.66, is in very good qualifications. . Based on the qualifications above, it can be concluded that the students' ability to identify the elements of drama texts in class VIII Semester II of SMP Negeri 4 Lembang Jaya for the 2022/2023 academic year has been able to identify drama texts in very good qualifications with a mastery level of 86-95% with a score average 89.06.

Abstract

This research was motivated by students' ability to write procedural texts in learning activities (P5). Based on the results of observations and interviews that researchers found, in the P5 learning activity report there are procedures or procedures for working on a project. Therefore, researchers found a connection between learning Indonesian, namely procedural texts in making reports from P5 activities. This type of research is quantitative using descriptive research methods. This research data was obtained from the results of student performance. The data collection techniques in this research are: (1) the researcher explains writing procedural texts based on their structure and linguistic characteristics to students. (2) the researcher provides examples of correct procedural texts according to their structure and linguistic characteristics. (3) the researcher gives students the opportunity to ask questions about the procedure text that will be written. (4) the researcher instructed the students to write procedure texts according to what had been practiced in the P5 local wisdom activity "making batik" (5) the researcher collected the students' procedure texts that had been written. Based on the research results, it was found that the ability to write procedure texts in P5 learning according to the procedure text structure was 93.35 with very good qualifications and linguistic rules were 83.9 with good qualifications. Based on the research results described in chapter IV, the ability to write procedural texts in learning activities (P5), class VII students at SMPN 4 Kubung, Solok Regency obtained an average of 88.67 with excellent qualifications.
