Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara work life balance, job satisfaction, dan career development, dengan affective commitment sebagai variabel mediasi pada generasi Z di Indonesia. Tantangan seperti ketidaksesuaian antara kemampuan tenaga kerja, yang diperburuk oleh perkembangan teknologi, memengaruhi pengembangan karier. Pendekatan yang digunakan kuantitatif, melibatkan 160 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik probability sampling. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukan work life balance dan job satisfaction terhadap career development hanya signifikan jika dimediasi oleh affective commitment. Memiliki jalur karier yang jelas dan terencana mendukung perkembangan karier generasi Z. Perusahaan harus menyadari bahwa kesempatan pengembangan karir yang sesuai meningkatkan komitmen sehingga dalam work life balance dan job satisfaction memberikan keuntungan jangka Panjang. Studi ini menegaskan bahwa work life balance berperan penting dalam job satisfation, affective commitmen, serta career development.ABSTRACTThis study aims to explore the relationship between work-life balance, job satisfaction, and career development, with affective commitment as a mediating variable among Generation Z in the Jabodetabek area. Challenges such as the mismatch between workforce capabilities, exacerbated by technological advancements, impact career development. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 160 respondents selected through probability sampling techniques. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square (PLS). The findings indicate that the effect of work-life balance on career development is significant only when mediated by affective commitment. Having a clear and planned career path supports the career development of Generation Z. Companies should recognize that providing appropriate career development opportunities enhances commitment, thereby leading to a better work-life balance and job satisfaction, resulting in long-term benefits. This study emphasizes the critical role of work-life balance in job satisfaction, affective commitment, and career development.
