<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Permasalahan yang sering ditemui dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar matematika, salah satunya yaitu kurangnya motivasi peserta didik dalam belajar sehingga peserta didik kurang dapat memahami materi yang disampaikan oleh guru. Hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran matematika yang diperoleh peserta didik masih rendah, hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya kemampuan guru memilih dan menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang kurang tepat. Maka dibutuhkanlah suatu model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakter peserta didik dan sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan. Selain penggunaan model pembelajaran, bantuan alat untuk menunjang proses belajar mengajar seperti media pembelajaran juga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dasar matematika. Model pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning) yang berbantuan media pembelajaran papan perkalian dan benda kongkrit sebagai alat peraga dapat mengatasi permasalahan tersebut sehingga mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan pemahaman peserta didik kelas III SD terkait konsep dasar perkalian. Oleh karena itu penggunaan model dan alat peraga harus tepat sesuai dengan pokok materi yang dibahas serta disesuiakan dengan karakteristik peserta didik. Pengalaman penulis selama mengajar di kelas III SDN Dawuhan 02 secara jujur dari tahun ke tahun prestasi siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika hingga saat ini masih tergolong rendah sebab nilai matematika rata-rata masih jauh di bawah batas tuntas (70). Jenis Penelitian ini menggunakan desian penelitian PTK, yang terdiri dari perencanaan, Tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes dan lembar observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil belajar siswa yang mencapai KKM pada siklus 1 sebesar 70%. Dan hasil belajar siswa yang mencapai KKM pada siklus 2 sebesar 97%. INCREASING MOTIVATION TO LEARN MATHEMATICS THROUGH A PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MODEL IN GRADE 3 STUDENTS OF SD NEGERI DAWUHAN 02 ABSTRACT Problems that are often encountered in mathematics teaching and learning activities, one of which is the lack of student motivation in learning so that students are unable to understand the material presented by the teacher. The learning outcomes obtained by students in mathematics subjects are still low, this is due to the teacher's lack of ability to choose and apply inappropriate learning methods. So we need a learning model that suits the character of the students and is in accordance with the material being taught. Apart from using learning models, the help of tools to support the teaching and learning process such as learning media can also improve understanding of basic mathematical concepts. The PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model which is assisted by multiplication board learning media and concrete objects as teaching aids can overcome these problems so as to increase student learning motivation and understanding of class III elementary school students regarding the basic concepts of multiplication. Therefore, the use of models and teaching aids must be appropriate to the subject matter being discussed and adapted to the characteristics of the students. The author's experience while teaching in class III at SDN Dawuhan 02 honestly, from year to year, student achievement in mathematics subjects is still relatively low because the average mathematics score is still far below the pass mark (70). This type of research uses a PTK research design, which consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection was carried out using tests and observation sheets. Based on the research results, the learning outcomes of students who reached the KKM in cycle 1 were 70%. And the learning outcomes of students who reached the KKM in cycle 2 were 97%.
