Abstract

Mental disorders with violent behavior are serious issues requiring comprehensive and continuous management at the community level. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of mental health cadres and companions at the Balowerti Mental Health Post (Posyandu Jiwa) in managing patients with violent behavior. The method was implemented through health education using lectures, interactive discussions, and simulations of handling violent behavior in mental disorder patients. The results showed increased participants’ understanding of signs of violent behavior, preventive measures, and appropriate referral procedures. Participants also demonstrated improved empathy and therapeutic communication skills. This activity proved effective in strengthening the capacity of cadres and companions to support individuals with mental disorders in the community.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus remain major public health problems. This activity aims to detect the risk of non-communicable diseases early by checking blood pressure and blood sugar levels in health cadres in the work area of the Kediri City Community Health Center. The method used was direct blood pressure and blood sugar examination using a descriptive approach. The activity was conducted in September 2025 and was attended by 40 health cadres. The results of the activity showed that all cadres had blood pressure and blood sugar in the normal category. This activity increased cadres’ awareness of the importance of regular health checks as a preventive effort against non-communicable diseases.
