Abstract

ABSTRACT The hemodialysis process requires the installation of a device to gain vascular access that will be connected to the hemodialysis machine. The intervention is called cannulation and can cause pain during cannulation. This study is to determine the effect of ice bag compresses on reducing cannulation pain in patients with kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis in the hemodialysis room of Aloei Saboe Hospital, Gorontalo City. The research used in this study was pre-experimental with a one-group pre-post test design approach. The sample used was patients with kidney failure who underwent hemodialysis in the hemodialysis room of Aloei Saboe Hospital, Gorontalo City with a total of 15 respondents. Based on the results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test, the significant value or Pvalue is 0.001, which means 0.001 <0.05 so it can be concluded that Ha is accepted, which means that there is an effect of ice bag compresses on reducing cannulation pain in patients with renal failure undergoing hemodialysis in the hemodialysis room of Aloei Saboe Hospital, Gorontalo City. This study can be a source of information and reference material for further researchers by using two research groups, namely the ice bag intervention group and the control group so that it is clearer and more effective in providing ice compresses. Abstract

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem autoimmune disease that is often accompanied by hematological complications, particularly anemia with a high prevalence. This study is a systematic review of journals published between 2019 and 2024 to describe the characteristics of anemia in SLE patients based on age, gender, type of anemia, and severity. Results indicate that anemia most commonly occurs in young adults (20–30 years old) and is more prevalent in women due to the high prevalence of SLE, although men tend to experience more severe disease. AIHA is the most characteristic and high-risk type of anemia, while ACD and IDA are more common in older age groups. The severity of anemia varies from mild to severe, with severe anemia mainly found in AIHA associated with high lupus activity. The most dangerous forms of anemia include AIHA accompanied by thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) or hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) because they can cause massive hemolysis and organ failure.
