<![CDATA[This study explores the experience and spirituality of Johannes Leimena. The approach used in this study is hermeneutic phenomenology, which is done through the interpretation and analysis of life experiences, ideas, and social work of Johannes Leimena utilizing the perspective of Dale Canon (Six Paths of Spirituality). The results of interpretation and analysis obtained the constructions of social spirituality, namely an integrative effort going to self-transcendence with God. All that manifested through social solidarity, empowerment, advocacy, and human development, ending the quality of life transformation. The path of social spirituality is obtained, in turn, providing innovation and inspiration for the church to organize the development of social services because the church's current context tends to be oriented towards rites, liturgical services, infrastructure development, and organizational management so that ignores social service as the essence of service church. Thus, this article contributes to the field of Christian spirituality to develop church social service. Abstrak Kajian ini mengeksplorasi pengalaman spiritualitas Johannes Leimena. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah hermeneu-tik fenomenologi yang dilakukan melalui intepretasi dan analisis pengalaman hidup, gagasan, dan karya sosial Johannes Leimena menggunakan prespektif enam jalan spiritualitas Dale Canon. Lewat hasil interpretasi dan analisis tersebut diperoleh konstruksi spiritualitas sosial, yakni suatu upaya integratif menuju transendensi diri dengan Allah. Kesemuanya itu termanifestasikan melalui solidaritas sosial, pemberdayaan, advokasi, dan pembangunan manusia yang bermuara pada transformasi kualitas hidup. Jalan spiritualitas sosial yang diperoleh pada gilirannya memberikan inovasi dan inspirasi bagi gereja untuk menata kembangkan pelayanan sosial, sebab konteks bergereja masa kini cenderung berorientasi pada ritus, pelayanan liturgis, pembangunan infrastruktur dan manejerial organisasi, sehingga mengabaikan pelayanan sosial sebagai esensi dari pelayanan gereja. Demikian tulisan ini menjadi kontribusi bidang spiritualitas Kristen bagi pengembangan pelayanan sosial gereja.]]>
