Abstract

Ayam merupakan sumber protein hewani adalah penyumbang terbesar dari produk domestik bruto nasional terbesar sebesar 12 persen dari jumlah nasional. Besarnya kebutuhan ayam sebagai penyumbang protein terbesar untuk masyarakat memiliki kendala karena ayam broiler (ayam pedaging) memiliki performa yang kurang baik yaitu daya hidup yang rendah. Kematian atau mortalitas ayam broiler dapat mencapai 13 persen dalam periode 1 siklus budidaya. Ayam kampung unggul balitbangtan (KUB) merupakan ayam kampung hasil seleksi genetik induk ayam kampung sampai generasi ke 6 memiliki performan yang baik yaitu mortalitas yang rendah, konsumsi pakan yang rendah dan lebih tahan penyakit dibandingkan dengan ayam kampung biasa serta ayam broiler. Ayam kampung KUB memiliki keunggulan dibandingkan dengan ayam kampung biasa yaitu memiliki harga telur yang lebih tinggi, mortalitas rendah, daya tetas yang tinggi, memeliki potensi menjadi ayam pedaging dan meningkatkan pendapatan peternak. Kesimpulan dari tulisan ini Ayam KUB memiliki performan yang baik dibandingkan ayam kampung biasa karena memiliki morfometrik yang besar, daya tetas telur yang baik dan memiliki potensi menjadi ayam pedaging sehingga meningkatkan pendapatan peternak.

Abstract

Ascariasis merupakan penyakit kecacingan yang dapat menimbulkan kerugian berupa penurunan kualitas ekonomi pada penderita yang terkena cacing. Pengendalian kecacingan dapat dilaksanakan melalui program pemerintah yaitu Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS). Pengendalian kecacingan juga dapat melalui pengobatan cacing melalui oral dan melalui suntikan. Pengobatan oral secara kimiawi dapat menimbulkan efek mual dan ruam pada pasien. Penggunaan obat herbal salah satu alternatif dalam pengendalian kecacingan. Telaah ini dilakukan pengkajian menggunakan panduan preffered reporting items for systematic review and meta analysis (PRISMA) terhadap artikel-artikel pada junal dan buku. Kata kunci yang digunakan dalam pemilihan artikel adalah Ascaridia galli dan ekstrak pepaya. Google shoolar database digunakan dalam penjelajahan di internet. Dari studi laboratorium didapatkan hasil bahwa ekstrak getah papaya dalam konsentrasi 2% memiliki jumlah kematian terbanyak sebesar 70% sampel Ascaridia galli dalam 24 jam waktu percobaaanAscariasis is a helminthic disease that can cause losses in the form of a decrease in the economic quality of sufferers affected by worms. Worm control can be carried out through a government program, namely Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS). Control of helminthiasis can also be through worm treatment orally and by injection. Chemical oral medication can cause nausea and rash in patients. The use of herbal medicine is an alternative in controlling worms. This study was conducted using the preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta analysis (PRISMA) guidelines for articles in journals and books. The keywords used in the selection of articles were Ascaridia galli and papaya extract. Google shoolar database is used in browsing on the internet. From laboratory studies, it was found that papaya latex extract at a concentration of 2% had the highest number of deaths of 70% of Ascaridia galli samples within 24 hours of the experiment.

Abstract

Forage availability is a key determinant of ruminant livestock productivity, particularly in tropical regions where seasonal variability often limits consistent feed supply. Elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) is widely cultivated due to its high biomass yield, adaptability, and ease of cultivation. However, its utilization as fresh forage is constrained by high moisture content, rapid nutrient deterioration, and seasonal availability. This riview is combinating research and secondary date.     This research was conducted in March - October 2025, in Sleman Regency, Indonesia. The aim of this study was to compare the physical quality of elephant grass silage with Aspergillus niger and Lactobacillus plantae additives.  Experienced panelists were selected to observe the physical quality of both types of silage.  Silage technology offers an effective solution by preserving forage through anaerobic fermentation mediated by lactic acid bacteria, enabling long-term storage and year-round feed availability. Despite its potential, elephant grass presents challenges as a silage material, notably low water-soluble carbohydrate content and high fiber levels, which can impede optimal fermentation. The incorporation of feed additives, such as carbohydrate sources, microbial inoculants, and other natural or chemical additives, is therefore necessary to enhance fermentation quality. These additives promote rapid pH decline, increase lactic acid production, inhibit spoilage microorganisms, and preserve nutritional value. The development of elephant grass silage technology using appropriate feed additives is essential to produce high-quality silage, support sustainable livestock production, and strengthen national feed security.
