Abstract

Classroom action research is based on the low Fine Motor Skills of children, so the implementation of this study aims to improve children's fine motor skills through pattern cutting activities in group A at St. Theresia I Pangkalpinang Kindergarten. The method used in this research is classroom action research which is carried out as an effort to overcome problems that arise in the classroom. This method is carried out with three stages, namely planning, implementation, and reflection. The research subjects were group A students of St. Theresia 1 Pangkalpinang Bangka Belitung Kindergarten, totaling 22 children. The object of this research is fine motor skills. The data collection method used was observation. Technical data analysis is done descriptively qualitative. The success indicator set is at least 85% of 22 children reach the category of developing as expected. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that cutting activities can improve the fine motor skills of 22 children in group A of St. Theresia I Pangkalpinang Kindergarten. The improvement can be seen from the observation of learning outcomes where there was an increase in the category of developing as expected (BSH) from originally only 3 children (as much as 14%) at the beginning of Cycle I increased to 19 children or 86% at the end of Cycle II. Based on the minimum success indicator set at 85%, this shows success in improving fine motor skills through cutting activities in group A at St. Theresia I Pangkalpinang Kindergarten.Keywords: fine motor skills, cutting activities, early childhood

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to develop children's expressive language skills through the serial picture storytelling method at St. Theresia I Pangkalpinang Kindergarten. The method used in this research is classroom action research which is carried out as an effort to overcome problems that arise in the classroom. This method is carried out with three stages, namely planning, implementation, and reflection. The subject of the research was the students of St. Theresia 1 Pangkalpinang Bangka Belitung Kindergarten, totaling 13 children. The object of this research is expressive language skills. The data collection method used was observation. Technical data analysis is done descriptively qualitative. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that from the aspect of assessing children's ability to repeat simple sentences at the beginning of the cycle there were 54% (7 people) who were considered less or not able, but at the end of the cycle after being treated using the serial picture storytelling method, only 8% (1 person) was found who had not been able to repeat simple sentences properly. For the aspect of assessing children's ability to express opinions to others at the beginning of the cycle there were 77% (10 people) who were considered less or not able, but at the end of the cycle only 23% (3 people) of 13 children were found who were not able to express opinions to others. For the aspect of assessing children's ability to retell stories that have been told by the teacher, at the beginning of the cycle there were 69% (9 people) who were considered less or not able, but at the end of the cycle only 15% (2 people) of 13 children who have not been able to retell stories that have been told by the teacher properly. Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve beginning reading skills in group A through letter cards at St. Kindergarten. Theresia 1 Pangkalpinang. The method used in this research is collaborative classroom action research using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. PTK is implemented as an effort to overcome problems that arise in the classroom. This method is carried out in three stages, namely planning, implementation and reflection. The research subjects were students from Group A of St. Theresia 1 Pangkalpinang, totaling 15 children. The object of this research is the beginning reading ability in group A. The data collection method used is observation. Technical data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The success indicator set is a minimum of 75% of 15 children who have achieved initial reading skills. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results of research on the development of early reading abilities using letter card media in general for the categories of children who are developing well and children who are developing very well, in quantity there was an increase where at the beginning of the study there was only 1 child, but at the end of the study there were 11 children (6 children included good category and 5 children in the very good category) which means that the Classroom Action Research was considered successful in meeting the minimum target. Thus, it can be concluded that activities to improve initial reading skills using letter cards in Group A Kindergarten St. Theresia 1 Pangkalpinang has had a positive impact as indicated by an increase in the quantity of children who are able to read at the beginning by using letter cards properly and correctly.
