Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini menjelaskan kesulitan belajar bahasa Inggris di TK. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar bahasa Inggris anak usia dini. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis membahas pentingnya memahami kesulitan anak kecil dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara terhadap anak-anak dari beberapa Taman Kanak-kanak. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan belajar bahasa Inggris di TK. Faktor-faktor tersebut antara lain kurangnya penggunaan bahasa Inggris dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, kurangnya dukungan dari lingkungan rumah, dan metode pembelajaran yang tidak sesuai dengan perkembangan anak. Selain itu, artikel ini membahas strategi mengatasi kesulitan belajar bahasa Inggris pada anak usia dini. Strategi tersebut antara lain menggunakan media pembelajaran yang menarik, menggunakan permainan dan lagu saat pembelajaran, serta melibatkan orang tua dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kesulitan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di TK dapat diatasi melalui penggunaan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat dan keterlibatan semua pihak yang terlibat, baik guru maupun orang tua. Pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar bahasa Inggris anak usia dini diharapkan dapat membantu meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di Taman Kanak-kanak.

Abstract

Many junior high school students experience difficulty actively using English vocabulary in authentic communication, and their level of learning motivation may contribute to this difficulty. This study aimed to examine the correlation between English learning motivation and daily vocabulary mastery among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Palu. A quantitative correlational research design was employed. The population consisted of 131 students, and 50 students were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a 20-item Likert-scale questionnaire measuring intrinsic, extrinsic, integrative, and instrumental motivation, and a 20-item multiple-choice test assessing daily vocabulary mastery. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s rho correlation analysis due to non-normal data distribution. The results showed that students’ motivation was generally high (M = 77.04), and their daily vocabulary mastery was at a good level (M = 74.20). A very strong, statistically significant positive correlation was found between the two variables (r = 0.876, p < 0.01). These findings indicate that higher motivation is strongly associated with better daily vocabulary mastery.

Analysis of Dompet Dhuafa’s Role in Alleviating Poverty Through Pedagang Tangguh in Balikpapan City (study at Dompet Dhuafa Kaltim) supervised by Mr. Adi Wijaya and Mr. Agus Junaidi. The purpose of this research is to knew the role of Dompet Dhuafa Kaltim in alleviating poverty in Balikpapan City through the program of pedagang tangguh. In this research, alleviating poverty means alleviating the poverty which focus on receivers of pedagang tangguh program. The sample of this research are the receivers of pedagang tangguh program who are resided in Balikpapan City. The type of this research is used descriptive qualitative research. The method of collecting information in this research is done by literature study and field study. Field study in this research is done by interviewing The Chief of Dompet Dhuafa Kaltim, the person in charge of pedagang tangguh program and the receivers of pedagang tangguh program. The analytical technique which is used in this research is triangulasi technique. Dompet Dhuafa kaltim used minimum wage of Balikpapan City as an indicator of success from alleviating poverty. The result of the analysis shows that Dompet Dhuafa Kaltim has succeeded to alleviate the poverty of pedagang tangguh program receivers which is indicated by an increase of income with monthly income exceeding minimum wage of Balikpapan City.
