Abstract

One of the factors that influences student learning motivation is student discipline. This research aims to describe: (1) the level of student learning motivation, (2) the level of student discipline, and (3) examine the relationship between learning motivation and student discipline. This research uses quantitative methods with descriptive correlational research. The population of this study was 1,331 students at SMKN 3 Padang who were registered in the January-June semester of the 2024 academic year with a research sample of 308 students selected using the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instruments used are the "List of Learning Motivation Fill-Ins" and the "Student Discipline Fill-In List". Data were analyzed using descriptive correlational Pearson Product Moment. The results of the research show that: (1) the learning motivation of SMK 3 Padang students is in the high category, (2) the discipline of SMK 3 Padang students is in the high category, and (3) there is a significant positive relationship between learning motivation and student discipline with the coefficient The correlation is 0.892 with a significance value of 0.000 at a high level of relationship. This means that the higher the student's learning motivation, the higher the student's discipline.
