<![CDATA[Many patients still show some inconsistencies in the use of medicines, particularly regarding the shelf life of pharmaceutical preparations. These inconsistencies occur due to patients' lack of understanding of the expiration date or Beyond Use Date (BUD) of pharmaceutical preparations. his study aims to analyze the level of knowledge of patients at Puri Farma Pharmacy in Salatiga regarding the BUD of pharmaceutical preparations. The research method used was quantitative non-experimental with a descriptive analytical design and a cross-sectional approach. he data were processed using Microsoft Excel. Research data were obtained directly through a questionnaire consisting of 14 statements regarding the BUD. The questionnaire was tested for validity and reliability before use. A total of 75 patients participated in this study. The results of this study showed that 72% of patients were aged ≤ 25 years and female. There were two questions that were answered correctly by 96% of respondents, namely those related to storage temperature, and there was one question that was only answered correctly by 60% of respondents, namely regarding dry syrup preparations that have undergone reconstitution and can be used for a maximum of 7-14 days. The conclusion of this study was that 13 respondents (17.33%) had sufficient knowledge and 62 respondents (82.67%) had good knowledge. This shows the importance of conducting education on the Expiration Date (BUD). ABSTRAK Banyak pasien masih menunjukkan beberapa ketidaksesuaian dalam penggunaan obat, khususnya terkait masa pakai sediaan farmasi. Ketidaksesuaian tersebut terjadi karena kurangnya pemahaman pasien terhadap batas waktu penggunaan obat atau Beyond Use Date (BUD) sediaan farmasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pengetahuan pasien di Apotek Puri Farma Salatiga mengenai BUD pada sediaan farmasi. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif non eksperimental dengan desain deskriptif analitik dan pendekatan cross sectional. Data diolah menggunakan microsoft excel. Data penelitian diperoleh secara langsung melalui kuesioner yang terdiri dari 14 pernyataan mengenai BUD. Kuesioner diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya sebelum digunakan. Responden yang ikut serta dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 75 pasien. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui 72% pasien berusia ≤ 25 tahun dengan jenis kelamin perempuan. Terdapat 2 pertanyaan yang dijawab benar oleh 96% responden yaitu terkait dengan suhu penyimpanan dan terdapat 1 pertanyaan yang hanya dijawab benar oleh 60% responden, yaitu mengenai obat sediaan sirup kering yang mengalami rekonstitusi maksimal digunakan 7-14 hari. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil 13 responden (17,33%) yang memiliki pengetahuan cukup dan 62 responden (82,67%) berpengetahuan baik.
