Abstract

Preparing financial reports is an important process in company financial management that involves collecting, classifying and presenting financial information. The preparation of this report must follow generally accepted accounting principles or have relevant accounting standards according to the jurisdiction. The financial report itself has the function of presenting financial information that is relevant, can be trusted to stakeholders regarding the financial performance of a company, and can be used in decision making. The accounting profession plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, relevance and integrity of financial reports. The accounting profession also helps maintain transparency and accountability in financial reporting. It is expected to help students, so that after graduating from high school they can immediately work and directly apply the knowledge gained at school into practice. This activity is held face to face, so that it is easy for us to provide training to Bunda Hati Kudus High School students majoring in Social Sciences class 12 (twelve), in explaining financial report material according to applicable standards, as well as insight into the accounting profession and its role in managing finances. The specific objective of this training is to provide useful elements for all transactions and events that occur during a period in the service undertaking as well as the profession itself. The results of community service activities provide results in growing their interest in continuing to college, especially accounting majors, where all work can be easier.

Abstract

All business actors need to record their business activities. Whether business people are familiar with accounting or not, they will definitely keep records to record financial transactions in their business activities. So it would be better if business people knew about accounting so that their financial records would be neater and in accordance with applicable regulations. The introduction of accounting at school level will help students to increase their knowledge so that they are able to understand proper financial records. This will help students when they enter the world of work. Due to increasingly difficult economic and financial demands, many students are carrying out business activities while completing their education. This Community Service Activity (PKM) is one manifestation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, to provide benefits to the community. It is hoped that this activity will provide benefits for Ricci 1 Middle School students to understand more about accounting in the entire series of company transactions, briefly starting from the basic accounting equation. This training will focus on adjustment journals. This activity will be carried out for 80 minutes in two offline sessions in August 2024. The activity includes presentation of material by the Untar PKM Team, then continued with practice questions and ending with a question and answer session. ABSTRAK Seluruh pelaku dunia usaha membutuhkan pencatatan dalam kegiatan usaha mereka. Baik pelaku usaha mengenal akuntansi ataupun tidak, mereka pasti akan melakukan pencatatan untuk merekap transaksi keuangan dalam kegiatan usaha mereka. Maka akan lebih baik jika pelaku usaha mengenal akuntansi agar pencatatan keuangan mereka menjadi lebih rapi dan sesuai dengan aturan yang berlaku. Pengenalan akuntansi pada jenjang sekolah akan membantu para siswa untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka sehingga mereka mampu memahami pencatatan keuangan yang seharusnya. Hal ini akan membantu siswa ketika akan terjun ke dunia kerja. Dimana karena tuntutan ekonomi dan keuangan yang semakin sulit, sudah banyak siswa yang melakukan kegiatan usaha sembari menyelesaikan pendidikan mereka. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini (PKM) adalah salah satu perwujudan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, untuk memberikan manfaat kepada masyarakat. Diharapkan kegiatan ini akan memberikan manfaat bagi siswa SMP Sekolah Ricci 1 untuk lebih memahami mengenai akuntansi dalam seluruh rangkaian transaksi perusahaan secara singkat yang dimulai dari persamaan dasar akuntansi. Pelatihan ini akan berfokus pada jurnal penyesuaian Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 80 menit dalam dua sesi secara luring pada bulan Agustus 2024. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi pemaparan materi oleh Tim PKM Untar kemudian dilanjutkan dengan latihan soal dan diakhiri dengan sesi tanya jawab.
