Abstract

The bandongan and sorogan traditions, as distinctive Islamic boarding school learning methods, have demonstrated significant adaptability in the digital era. While both are based on direct interaction and the instilling of good manners, digital technology broadens access to knowledge, enhances learning effectiveness, and provides flexibility without diminishing the core values of Islamic boarding schools. Innovations in recorded religious studies, audio-video media, digital books, and online learning platforms enable more systematic documentation of knowledge, personalized learning, and more measurable monitoring of students' progress. On the other hand, digitalization also presents challenges, such as maintaining good manners, content accuracy, and the continuity of the chain of knowledge. Therefore, technology integration requires an adaptive curriculum, digital teacher competency, and ethical guidelines based on Islamic boarding school values. Overall, digital transformation strengthens the sustainability and relevance of bandongan and sorogan as Islamic educational traditions amidst changing times.
