Abstract

This study aims to reveal the Sufi values contained in the book Khaṣā’iṣ al-Muṣṭafā by Nāṣiruddīn Mughālṭāy, an 8th-century H. scholar of hadith. This book, which contains short narratives about the special characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, is analyzed using a qualitative approach through content analysis. The focus of the study is to explore how the manifestation of Sufi values in the stories and behavior of the Prophet makes him an ideal model (al-uswah al-hasanah) in Islamic spirituality. The findings show that the spiritual dimension of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in the book represents several profound Sufi values, including tawakkal, ma'rifah, mahabbah, zuhud, ikhlas, muraqabah, tawāḍu', iḥsān, and ṣabr. In conclusion, Khaā’iṣ al-Muafā not only affirms the prophetic status of Muhammad SAW but also positions him as a perfect figure (al-insān al-kāmil), serving as the main reference in the Sufi tradition. The implication of this research is the affirmation that the Prophet's spiritual example is integral and comprehensive, providing an ethical-religious foundation for those who walk the Sufi path.
