Abstract

The use of technology-based learning media in science learning in elementary schools is an important need, especially in the material of changes in the state of objects which is abstract and often difficult for second-grade students to understand. The lack of variety in learning media also has an impact on low student engagement and learning motivation. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Wordwall educational game media in science learning on the material of changes in the state of objects in second-grade MI/SD. The method used is a qualitative approach with a type of literature study, through the review of various relevant scientific literature, such as journals, books, and previous research results, which are then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the implementation of Wordwall through interactive quiz activities, matching, and drag and drop is able to increase student motivation, activeness, and conceptual understanding, especially on the concepts of melting, freezing, evaporating, and condensing, and is supported by direct feedback and automatic assessment. Thus, it can be concluded that the Wordwall educational game media is effective to be used as an innovative alternative in science learning because it is able to create interactive, fun, and meaningful learning and contributes to improving student learning outcomes.
