Online buying and selling activities have become an inseparable part of people's daily lives. In Arabic, buying and selling is called al bai'u, which means selling, replacing, or exchanging something. Meanwhile, according to Article 1457 of the Civil Code (KUHPer), buying and selling is an agreement in which one party is obliged to hand over an object, and the other party pays a sum of money as an agreed price. In the modern era, transactions do not only take place directly, but also through digital platforms such as e-commerce and social commerce. E-commerce includes trading activities through electronic media, either in the form of applications or websites. Meanwhile, social commerce utilizes social media to sell products or services directly, allowing customers to make transactions without changing platforms. Examples of e-commerce that are popular in Indonesia include Shopee, Tokopedia, and Lazada, while social commerce includes Tiktok Shop, Instagram, and Facebook. This buying and selling activity is regulated in the KUHPer and the Consumer Protection Law. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to increase public legal awareness regarding e-commerce and the potential risks that can harm MSME actors. The implementation method is carried out through offline material provision. Kegiatan jual beli secara online telah menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat. Dalam bahasa Arab, jual beli disebut al bai’u, yang berarti menjual, mengganti, atau menukar sesuatu. Sementara itu, menurut pasal 1457 Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Perdata (KUHPer), jual beli merupakan perjanjian dimana satu pihak berkewajiban menyerahkan suatu benda, dan pihak lainnya membayar sejumlah uang sebagai harga yang disepakati. Di era modern, transaksi tidak hanya berlangsung secara langsung, tetapi juga melalui platform digital seperti e-commerce dan social commerce. E-commerce mencakup kegiatan perdagangan melalui media elektronik, baik dalam bentuk aplikasi maupun situs web. Sementara itu, social commerce memanfaatkan media sosial untuk menjual produk atau jasa secara langsung, memungkinkan pelanggan melakukan transaksi tanpa berpindah platform. Contoh e-commerce yang populer di Indonesia antara lain Shopee, Tokopedia, dan Lazada, sedangkan social commerce mencakup Tiktok Shop, Instagram, dan Facebook. Aktivitas jual beli ini diatur dalam KUHPer dan Undang-Undang Perlindungan Konsumen. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran hukum masyarakat terkait e-commerce serta potensi risiko yang dapat merugikan pelaku UMKM. Metode pelaksanaannya dilakukan melalui pembekalan materi secara luring.
