Abstract

Abstrak: Limbah peternakan yang melimpah dan tanpa sistem pengelolaan yang diterapkan, baik secara individu maupun kolektif dapat menimbulkan berbagai masalah, mulai dari pencemaran lingkungan hingga risiko terganggunya kesehatan masyarakat sekitar. Dengan memanfaatkan potensi limbah ternak yang selama ini belum digarap, diharapkan terjadi perbaikan kualitas lingkungan, peningkatan produktivitas pertanian, serta pengurangan ketergantungan terhadap pupuk kimia yang semakin sulit diakses. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Lombok Utara bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota kelompok tani dalam mengelola limbah ternak, khususnya kotoran sapi, menjadi pupuk organik melalui pemanfaatan teknologi mesin pencacah. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan dengan mitra yaitu kelompok tani Tetu Tan ta Tunaq dan anggota mitra yang terlibat sebanyak 32 orang. Untuk mengevaluasi hasil kegiatan peserta pelatihan diberikan pretest dan posttest, kemudian data diuji menggunakan paired semple T-test. Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra sebelum pelatihan sebesar 45,75% dan meningkat menjadi 88,79% setelah kegiatan selesai dilakukan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mitra memahami materi yang disampaikan dan dapat melaksanakan hasil pelatihan yang telah dilakukan.Abstract: Abundant livestock waste without an individual or collective management system can cause various problems, ranging from environmental pollution to risks to the health of the surrounding community. By utilizing the potential of livestock waste that has not been exploited, it is hoped that there will be improvements in environmental quality, increased agricultural productivity, and reduced dependence on chemical fertilizers, which are becoming increasingly difficult to access. The community service activity carried out in Sesait Village, North Lombok Regency, aimed to increase the knowledge and skills of farmer group members in managing livestock waste, especially cow dung, into organic fertilizer through the use of shredder technology. The methods used in this activity were socialization and training with partners, namely the Tetu Tan ta Tunaq farmer group and 32 members involved. To evaluate the results of the activity, participants were given a pretest and posttest, and the data was tested using a paired sample T-test. The analysis results showed that the average level of knowledge and skills of the partners before the training was 45.75% and increased to 88.79% after the activity was completed. This shows that the partners understood the material presented and were able to implement the results of the training that had been conducted.
