Abstract

In image classification, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) focus on local patterns, whereas vision Transformers (ViTs) emphasize global context. Combining the two in a hybrid CNN-ViT model may yield a more comprehensive image representation. Waste image classification with visually heterogeneous characteristics can be used to effectively evaluate the performance of the hybrid CNN-ViT model. In addition, such classification supports the crucial need for accurate waste-type identification to enable effective waste management systems. This study investigates a hybrid CNN-ViT model for classifying 24705 organic and recyclable waste images. The workflow involves resizing, an 80:10:10 split, and data augmentation, with models trained for 50 epochs using BCE loss and the Adam optimizer. Evaluation is conducted at the best epoch, defined as the epoch with the highest validation accuracy. For comparison, CNN and ViT models are also trained and evaluated separately. On the test set, the hybrid CNN-ViT model achieves an accuracy of 91.54%, the CNN achieves 91.78%, and the ViT achieves 87.17%. These findings show that CNNs provide an effective and efficient baseline, while the hybrid CNN-ViT model delivers performance competitive with CNNs and is worth considering as a robust alternative for image-based waste classification tasks.

Abstract

The Indonesian capital market has experienced developments that show its role as an important component in the economy. As one of the countries with a Muslim population, the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) is used as an investment in stocks based on sharia. Every investor in the capital market, whether based on sharia or conventional, really needs relevant information about what macroeconomic factors can affect investment activities, especially on stock returns. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of macroeconomic factors, namely inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates on stock returns in companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for the 2019-2022 period using the panel data regression analysis method. A method that is more likely to build and test more complex regression models. Based on the results of panel data regression processing, using the common effect model approach as the best model, the results of the f test showed that inflation, interest rates and exchange rates simultaneously had a significant effect on stock returns. The results of the t test also showed that inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates partially had a significant effect on stock returns.

Abstract

The transition into a higher education environment often triggers academic pressure demanding optimal adaptive performance and a balance between study and personal life. Amidst modernization challenges, the local wisdom value of Bapukung holds strategic potential as an often-overlooked internal resource for self-management. This study aims to construct a predictive structural model to explain the mediating mechanism of dynamic strategic capabilities in the relationship between cultural affiliation and student performance outcomes. Data were collected via a survey of 81 first-year female students in South Kalimantan and analyzed using the Regularized Structural Equation Modeling method with the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator penalty. This statistical approach was applied to perform simultaneous variable selection to generate precise parameter estimates within a limited sample size. Analysis results indicate that cultural affiliation significantly builds the capabilities of sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring resources. A crucial finding from the model selection is a unique role specialization: the reconfiguring capability dominantly determines adaptive performance, while the seizing capability exclusively determines study-life balance. This study concludes that local culture serves as a vital foundation for developing modern self-management competencies, in which mental flexibility is the key to academic achievement and decisiveness is the determinant of life well-being.
