Abstract

Makassar is the fifth largest metropolitan city in Indonesia. This status makes the movement of life in it very dynamic. However, behind its great appeal, Makassar City has a number of environmental problems such as garbage, flooding, groundwater decline, and air pollution. One important step that needs to be taken to overcome increasingly serious environmental problems is to foster an attitude of environmental concern in students. This study aims to analyze the influence of school culture and geography learning on the formation of students' environmental awareness character. The method used is a survey with a quantitative approach. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that environmental content in school culture was in the moderate category (54%), environmental content in Geography learning was in the high category (75%), and the level of students' environmental awareness was at the caring level (82%). The influence of school culture on the formation of environmental awareness character has an R² value of 0.177 (17.7%), while Geography learning has an influence of 0.082 (8.2%). Together, school culture and Geography learning influence students' environmental awareness character with R² of 0.180 (18.0%).

Abstract

The critical thinking skills possessed by students today are very concerning. A student should have good analytical skills. Senior High School 5 Takalar is one of the schools that carries out remedial classes almost every semester. One of the basic competencies that is often remedied is the Lithosphere material. This research is a pre-experimental design with a Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. The sampling process used a purposive sampling technique. 2 classes were obtained, namely class X.2 as the control class and X.1 as the experimental class using Augmented Reality media. The data analysis method was carried out by applying the paired t-test to test the hypothesis and the N-Gain test to assess the effectiveness of the learning media. The results of data analysis using the paired sample t-test for the experimental class with Augmented Reality obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the differences in treatment in experimental classes that use Augmented Reality learning media or Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results of the effectiveness analysis using the N-Gain test obtained a score of 0.7484, meaning that the level of effectiveness of the learning media applied in the experimental class was included in the high category.

Abstract

Indonesia’s status as a tropical country makes it rich in biodiversity, so that botanical gardens in addition to being used as tourist attractions, also function in the field of education. This study aims to determine and analyze the physical condition and eligibiltion of the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden as a source of environmental learning and to determine and analyze the feasibility of the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden as a source of environmental learning. The research method used is the mixed method. The data analysis technique uses a Likert scale and SWOT qualitative analysis. The results of the study show that, the physical condition of the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden contains several infrastructures, namely: gates, management offices, mosques and toilets, hotmix roads and boulevards, gicok roads, concrete roads, reservoirs, and gazebos. Environmental elements have an average percentage of 78.38%, infrastructure or facilities of 71%, accessibility/affordability of 82.67%. The three percentages of these indicators are 77.38%, meaning that the Massenrempulu Botanical Garden is included in the category of being feasible as a source of environmental learning.. The Botanical Garden has great potential as a tourist and educational destination, but is hampered by several weaknesses such as lack of maintenance and funding. Therefore, it is necessary to implement strategies to improve the quality and attractiveness of the Botanical Gardens, such as improving maintenance and provision, and developing information system technology.
