Abstract

This article discusses the communication strategy of the Ansor Youth Movement (GP) in Kabat district to enhance the participation of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) members in the organization. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data is analyzed using the interactive analysis model from Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The validity of the data is strengthened through source triangulation.Research results show that the success of GP Ansor is determined by the selection of the right communicators, the formulation of relevant messages, and the use of social media such as Facebook as the main communication tool. Other media like WhatsApp also support internal communication within the organization. Despite facing obstacles such as technological limitations and competition between organizations, GP Ansor Ranting Kabat has managed to overcome these through regular study sessions, direct discussions, and active community involvement in various social activities. This research indicates that a communication strategy based on a combination of traditional and digital approaches is effective in enhancing citizen participation in organizational activities.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of the Ngopi Bareng (Casual Coffee Gathering) program as a collaborative medium between the Village Government and the local Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) leadership in supporting community development in Kampung NU, Banyuwangi. Designed as an informal dialogue forum, Ngopi Bareng provides an egalitarian space where village officials, NU leaders, and community members engage in open discussion. Within this relaxed setting, participants address various social, cultural, religious, and public service issues that shape everyday life in the village. The community engagement approach used in this program is participatory in nature, involving regular meetings, focused group discussions, and experience-sharing sessions that emphasize deliberation (musyawarah), collective action (gotong royong), and a human-centered orientation. The results of this engagement indicate that Ngopi Bareng successfully increases public participation in village programs, strengthens social networks between the village administration and religious communities, and stimulates the emergence of innovative local initiatives aligned with community needs. Additionally, the activity reinforces local wisdom and NU traditions, particularly in cultivating a culture of dialogue, tolerance (tasamuh), and social responsibility. Program sustainability is maintained through the establishment of routine forums and the expansion of collaborative networks, ensuring that Ngopi Bareng evolves beyond a one-time activity into a sustainable partnership model that can be replicated in other villages. The findings affirm that community-based dialogue platforms grounded in religious and cultural values are highly effective in fostering social harmony, enhancing local capacity, and promoting inclusive and participatory village development innovations.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is one of the issues that requires attention because it can affect the character development and social life of students. One form of behavior that needs to be prevented in educational environments is bullying, which can have an impact on students’ social relationships and psychological well-being. This activity aimed to improve adolescents’ understanding and awareness of the importance of character development as an effort to prevent juvenile delinquency, particularly bullying behavior. The activity was conducted on July 25, 2026, at MTs Tahfidzul Qur’an in Sembulung Village, Cluring District, Banyuwangi Regency, involving 14 participants. The implementation method used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which positioned participants as active contributors in identifying problems, implementing activities, and conducting reflection. The activities included material delivery by a Guidance and Counseling (BK) teacher and university students, interactive discussions, and an anti-bullying declaration. At the final stage, participants wrote their anti-bullying commitments on provided paper and attached them to a sheet of buffalo paper as a form of collective commitment to creating a safe and respectful school environment. The results showed that participants actively participated in the activities and gained an understanding of the forms, impacts, and prevention of bullying through character development. The declaration activity also provided a form of direct participation for students in building a commitment to positive behavior. Therefore, character development through a participatory approach can serve as a preventive effort to increase adolescents’ awareness and encourage the creation of an educational environment free from bullying.
