Abstract

Low self-confidence among vocational adolescents hinders academic achievement and career adaptation, particularly at SMK YPPS Sumedang. This study aims to examine the effect of syaja'ah material understanding on grade X students' self-confidence. Employing quantitative ex post facto correlational approach with causal-comparative design, population of 180 students yielded saturated sample of 120 via purposive sampling. Two validated Likert-scale questionnaires (25 items/indicator) were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression via SPSS 26. Findings reveal syaja'ah understanding (47.9%, poor category) significantly influences self-confidence (47.9%, r=0.705; R²=0.497; p<0.05), explaining 49.7% variance. The study concludes that truth-based syaja'ah strengthens vocational self-efficacy, recommending PAI curriculum integration through role-playing simulations.
