Abstract

Optimisasi konveks merupakan cabang optimisasi matematika yang memiliki peran penting dalam berbagai disiplin ilmu, seperti kecerdasan buatan, ekonomi, dan teknik. Keunggulan utama optimisasi konveks terletak pada jaminan solusi optimal global serta efisiensi metode penyelesaiannya. Artikel ini memberikan tinjauan literatur mengenai konsep dasar optimisasi konveks, metode utama yang digunakan, serta aplikasinya dalam berbagai bidang. Beberapa metode numerik yang banyak digunakan, seperti gradient descent, metode Newton, dan interior-point, dikaji dari segi efektivitas dan efisiensi komputasi. Selain itu, teori dualitas dalam optimisasi konveks dibahas sebagai alat analisis yang membantu penyederhanaan penyelesaian masalah. Dibandingkan dengan metode klasik seperti Simplex dan metode Lagrange, optimisasi konveks menawarkan stabilitas dan efisiensi yang lebih baik, terutama dalam menangani masalah skala besar. Hasil tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan metode optimisasi konveks semakin berorientasi pada integrasi dengan machine learning dan pemrosesan big data. Studi lanjutan direkomendasikan untuk mengeksplorasi pendekatan hibrida yang mengombinasikan optimisasi konveks dengan teknik lain guna meningkatkan efektivitas dalam aplikasi nyata.

Abstract

This article aims to provide a comprehensive review of convex functions, generalizations of convexity concepts, and their applications in optimization and mathematical analysis. Although the basic concepts of convex functions are well understood, the understanding and application of advanced concepts such as quasiconvexity, log-convexity, and conjugate functions remain limited in more complex optimization problems, particularly in the context of statistical parameter estimation and machine learning. This study employs a literature review methodology with a descriptive analysis of theories and concepts developed in books and scientific journals, comparing various approaches in optimization and more complex functional structures. The findings highlight that convex functions possess valuable characteristics for optimization, and generalizations of convexity concepts, such as quasiconvexity and log-convexity, can extend the applications of convex functions in more complex analyses, such as in statistical models and machine learning.

Abstract

PT Hadji Kalla (Kalla Toyota) merupakan salah satu perusahaan otomotif besar yang memiliki departemen procurement sebagai bagian penting dalam pengadaan barang dan jasa. Kegiatan Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL) ini dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa Jurusan Matematika FMIPA Universitas Negeri Makassar selama kurang lebih dua bulan, yaitu mulai 10 Juni sampai 09 Agustus 2024. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengalaman nyata bagi mahasiswa dalam dunia kerja serta mengaplikasikan teori yang diperoleh selama perkuliahan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah collaborative participatory qualitative descriptive. Selama pelaksanaan magang, mahasiswa terlibat langsung dalam berbagai aktivitas seperti pengarsipan dokumen, penginputan data pada sistem oracle applications cloud, pembuatan dokumen kontrak, dan koordinasi penerimaan barang. Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa mendapatkan pengalaman berharga mengenai alur kerja di lingkungan profesional serta pentingnya ketelitian, kedisiplinan, dan komunikasi tim. PKL ini dinilai sangat bermanfaat karena memberikan kesempatan untuk menambah wawasan dan keterampilan praktis yang relevan sebelum kembali melanjutkan studi di kampus.

Abstract

The mentoring program for preparing students to participate in the 2025 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad for Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT) in the field of Mathematics was conducted entirely online as an effort to enhance the mathematical abilities of Universitas Fajar students in facing the competition organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This program was considered important because Universitas Fajar does not yet offer an academic program specifically focused on mathematics. The students designated by the university received explanations of combinatorics material along with practice exercises aimed at ensuring their understanding of the concepts presented. Through this mentoring activity, the students gained additional insights into combinatorics topics that they had not previously encountered in their regular coursework, as well as an introduction to basic problem types commonly found in the regional selection stage. The mentoring sessions were conducted in four meetings, each with a duration of approximately two hours. The limited duration affected the depth of understanding that could be provided, and therefore, it is hoped that future preparation sessions for participating students can be optimized in terms of learning time.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the fundamental mathematical understanding of students at SMAN 1 Gowa, particularly on the topics of number systems and quadratic equations. The program was conducted over five in-person sessions during November, using lecture and question-and-answer methods supported by classroom facilities, a laptop, and a smart TV. Each meeting was followed by a formative test to monitor students’ progress. The results indicate improvements in students’ abilities to operate with numbers, understand algebraic expressions, and solve quadratic equations systematically. The school’s role in providing facilities and coordinating student participation contributed significantly to the smooth implementation of the program. This activity is expected to serve as a simple yet effective intervention model for strengthening students’ basic mathematical concepts. Moving forward, improving students’ discipline,particularly in attendance and preparedness, will be crucial for achieving more optimal outcomes.
