Abstract

Abstrak. PT. XYZ adalah perusahaan yang memproduksi dan mendistribusikan air minum dalam kemasan. Pada Februari 2024 ditemukan 746 botol cacat, menunjukkan adanya kelemahan dalam penerapan Quality Control (QC) di lini produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi penyebab cacat produk menggunakan fishbone diagram untuk memetakan sumber masalah dan menentukan langkah perbaikan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kecacatan dipengaruhi oleh faktor manusia, mesin, dan metode kerja. Untuk mengatasinya, penelitian mengusulkan penerapan Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), peningkatan pelatihan operator, serta penguatan pengawasan proses produksi. Implementasi TPM dilakukan melalui perawatan berkala, continuous improvement, dan pengendalian parameter mesin. Kompetensi operator ditingkatkan melalui pelatihan rutin dan penegakan SOP. Pengawasan produksi diperketat melalui checklist inspeksi, in-line quality control, dan dokumentasi yang lebih baik. Pendekatan ini diharapkan mampu menurunkan jumlah produk reject, meningkatkan mutu produksi, dan memperkuat sistem pengendalian kualitas secara keseluruhan. Abstract. PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the production and distribution of bottled drinking water. In February 2024, 746 defective bottles were found, indicating weaknesses in the implementation of Quality Control (QC) on the production line. This study aims to identify the causes of product defects using a fishbone diagram to map problem sources and determine appropriate corrective actions. The analysis shows that defects are influenced by human, machine, and work method factors. To address these issues, the study proposes applying Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), enhancing operator training, and strengthening production process supervision. TPM is implemented through routine maintenance, continuous improvement, and machine parameter control. Operator competence is improved through regular training and strict SOP enforcement. Production oversight is reinforced using inspection checklists, in-line quality control, and better documentation. These efforts are expected to reduce reject levels, improve product quality, and strengthen the overall quality control system.
