ABSTRACT Arabic language learning at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level plays an important role, particularly in improving reading skills (maharah qirā’ah) as a foundation for understanding religious texts and other learning materials. However, low learning motivation and limited vocabulary mastery remain major obstacles in acquiring maharah qirā’ah. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Arabic comic media in enhancing the reading skills of seventh-grade students at MTs Hidayatullah Denpasar. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (One Group Pretest–Posttest Design). The sample consisted of 20 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through tests, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using a paired sample t-test with SPSS. The results showed an increase in the average score from the pretest (42) to the posttest (60.5). The t-test significance value was 0.000 (< 0.005), and the calculated t-value was smaller than the table t-value (-11.103 < -2.093), indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Therefore, Arabic comic media proved effective in improving students’ reading skills. This medium also created an enjoyable and interactive learning atmosphere, although attention should still be given to the potential for visual distractions during the learning process. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di tingkat Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) memiliki peran penting, terutama dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca (maharah qira’ah) sebagai dasar untuk memahami teks-teks keagamaan dan materi pelajaran lainnya. Namun, rendahnya minat belajar serta keterbatasan penguasaan kosakata menjadi kendala dalam penguasaan maharah qira’ah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas media komik berbahasa Arab dalam meningkatkan keterampilan maharah qira’ah siswa kelas VII di MTs Hidayatullah Denpasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental (One Group Pretest-Posttest Design). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 20 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test melalui SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai dari pretest (42) menjadi posttest (60,5). Nilai signifikansi uji t sebesar 0.000 (< 0.005) dan nilai -t hitung lebih kecil dari -t tabel (-11.103 < -2.093) yang berarti Ho ditolak. Dengan demikian, media komik berbahasa Arab terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa. Media ini juga menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dan interaktif, meskipun tetap perlu perhatian terhadap potensi distraksi visual dalam pembelajaran.
