Abstract

Asystasia gangetica has the potential to serve as a high-quality forage crop; however, appropriate treatment is required to ensure its sustainable availability and nutritional value. Regosol soil is a young, underdeveloped soil, while Mediterranean soil originates from weathered limestone and is more developed. Chicken manure and grape waste are types of organic fertilizers known to improve plant growth. This study.aimed to observe the growth performance of Asystasia gangetica.(L.) subsp. micrantha fertilized with a combination of chicken manure and grape waste. The research was conducted over a 12-week period in Sading Village, Badung Regency,.Bali Province. A split-plot design with a completely randomized design (CRD).was employed, with soil type as the main plot and fertilizer combination as the subplot. Two types of soil were used: regosol (R) and Mediterranean (M). Fertilizer treatments included 100% chicken manure (A), 100% grape waste (B), 75% chicken manure + 25% grape waste (C), 50% chicken manure + 50% grape waste (D), and 25% chicken manure + 75% grape waste (E). Observed variables included plant height, number of leaves, number of branches,.leaf chlorophyll content, leaf color, and leaf area per pot. The results showed no interaction between soil type and fertilizer combination on all growth variables of Asystasia gangetica. In Mediterranean soil, the application of 75% chicken manure + 25% grape waste resulted in significantly higher plant height and leaf area per pot compared to regosol soil. The combination of chicken manure and grape waste significantly affected the number of leaves, number of branches, and leaf area per pot. It can be concluded that there was no interaction between soil type and the combination of chicken manure and grape waste. The best growth performance of Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. micrantha. was observed in Mediterranean soil with the application of 75% chicken manure + 25% grape waste. ABSTRAK Asystasia gangetica berpotensi sebagai hijauan berkualitas, namun perlu perlakuan tepat agar ketersediaannya berkelanjutan dan bernutrisi. Tanah regosol merupakan tanah muda yang belum berkembang sempurna. Tanah mediteran berasal dari batuan kapur yang telah mengalami pelapukan dan perkembangan lebih lanjut. Pupuk kotoran ayam dan limbah anggur salah satu pupuk yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan. mengamati pertumbuhan Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha yang. dipupuk dengan campuran kotoran ayam dan limbah anggur. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Desa Sading, Kabupaten Badung, Provinsi Bali dalam jangka waktu 12 minggu. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) pola split plot dua faktor yaitu;tanah sebagai petak utama dan campuran kotoran ayam dan limbah anggur sebagai anak petak. Tanah yang dipakai ada dua jenis yaitu tanah regosol (R) dan tanah mediteran (M). Campuran pupuk terdiri dari 100% kotoran ayam (A), 100% limbah anggur (B), 75% kotoran ayam + 25% limbah anggur (C), 50% kotoran ayam + 50% limbah anggur (D), dan 25% kotoran ayam + 75% limbah anggur (E). Variabel yang diamati meliputi; tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah cabang, klorofil daun, warna daun, luas daun per pot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terjadi interaksi antara jenis tanah dengan campuran pupuk terhadap seluruh variabel pertumbuhan Asystasia gangetica. Pada jenis tanah mediteran perlakuan 75% kotoran ayam + 25% limbah anggur memberikan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman dan luas daun per pot nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan tanah regosol. Pada pengaruh campuran kotoran ayam dan limbah anggur terdapat perbedaan yang nyata terhadap jumlah daun, jumlah batang, dan luas daun per pot. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terjadi interaksi antara jenis tanah dengan campuran kotoran ayam dan limbah anggur. Pada tanah mediteran dan campuran 75% kotoran ayam + 25% limbah anggur memberikan pertumbuhan terbaik bagi Asystasia gangetica.(L.) subsp. Micrantha.

Abstract

While providing forage by utilizing shaded land is not entirely ideal for plant growth, it still has potential if planted with plants tolerant to light stress. Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott and Clitoria ternatea have high productivity and nutrient content, and these two forages have the potential to complement each other through a mixed cropping system (association). This study aimed to determine the effect of shade level on the yield of the association of Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott and Clitoria ternatea. The research was conducted in Sading Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, from September to December 2024. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with four shade treatments: N0 = 0% shade; N1 = 20% shade; N2 = 40% shade; and N3 = 60% shade, with each treatment replicated seven times. Observed variables included: leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, total forage dry weight, leaf dry weight to stem dry weight ratio, and leaf dry weight to total forage dry weight ratio. The results showed that increasing the shade level decreased the association yield of Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott and Clitoria ternatea for all observed variables, while 0% shade (N0) provided the best results for all variables. It can be concluded that increasing the shade level can reduce the yield of the association of Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott and Clitoria ternatea, and a shade level of 0% gives the best results. ABSTRAK Usaha menyediakan hijauan pakan dengan memanfaatkan lahan di bawah naungan, walaupun tidak sepenuhnya ideal untuk pertumbuhan tanaman, namun tetap memiliki potensi jika ditanami tanaman yang toleran terhadap cekaman cahaya. Jenis rumput gajah kate dan bunga telang memiliki sifat produktif dan kandungan nutrien tinggi, serta kedua hijauan tersebut memiliki potensi saling melengkapi melalui sistem pertanaman campuran (asosiasi). Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat naungan terhadap hasil asosiasi Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott dan Clitoria ternatea. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Sading, Kecamatan Mengwi, Kabupaten Badung, dan penelitian berlangsung dari bulan September - Desember 2024. Penelitian yang menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan empat perlakuan tingkat naungan, yaitu: N0 = naungan 0%; N1 = naungan 20%; N2 = naungan 40%; dan N3 = naungan 60%, serta setiap perlakuan diulang tujuh kali. Variabel yang diamati, meliputi: berat kering daun, berat kering batang, berat kering total hijauan, nisbah berat kering daun dengan berat kering batang, dan nisbah berat kering daun dengan berat kering total hijauan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan tingkat naungan dapat menurunkan hasil asosiasi Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott dan Clitoria ternatea pada semua variabel yang diamati, sedangkan pada naungan 0% (N0) memberikan hasil terbaik pada semua variabel. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan tingkat naungan dapat menurunkan hasil asosiasi Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott dan Clitoria ternatea, dan tingkat naungan 0% memberikan hasil terbaik.

Abstract

Thiis stuidy aiiimed to determiine the effect of shaidiing levels on the growth of the aissociiaitiion between Penniisetuim puirpuireuim cv. Mott aind Cliitoriiai ternaiteai. The reseairch wais conduicted iin Saidiing Viillaige, Mengwii Diistriict, Baiduing Regency, for ai duiraitiion of three (3) months, from September to November 2024, uisiing ai completely raindomiized desiign (CRD) consiistiing of 4 treaitments, eaich repliicaited 7 tiimes, resuiltiing iin 28 experiimentail uiniits. The shaidiing level treaitments were: N0 = 0% shaidiing; N1 = 20% shaidiing; N2 = 40% shaidiing; aind N3 = 60% shaidiing. The observed vairiiaibles iincluided the growth pairaimeters of Penniisetuim puirpuireuim cv. Mott aind Cliitoriiai ternaiteai, naimely: viine length, plaint heiight, nuimber of tiillers, nuimber of brainches, nuimber of leaives, leaif chlorophyll content, aind stem diiaimeter. The resuilts showed thait the treaitment of 0% shaidiing for Penniisetuim puirpuireuim cv. Mott aind 20% shaidiing for Cliitoriiai ternaiteai produiced the hiighest growth. The vairiiaibles meaisuired were ais follows: plaint heiight (53.29 cm), nuimber of tiillers (12.86 tiillers), nuimber of graiss leaives (98.14 leaives), chlorophyll content of graiss leaives (11.91), stem diiaimeter (1.47 cm), viine length (151.57 cm), nuimber of leguime brainches (10.14 brainches), nuimber of leguime leaives (51.57 leaives), aind chlorophyll content of leguime leaives (15.94). Abstract

Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha is a weed with potential for use as livestock feed. Efforts to increase the productivity of Asystasia gangetica are made by adding nutrients through fertilization. This study aimed to determine the effect of various doses of Organic Boost fertilizer on the growth of Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha. The research was conducted in a greenhouse in Sading Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali Province, from April 20 to June 20, 2025. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments of Organic Boost fertilizer doses: D0 (0 l ha-1), D1 (2,500 l ha-1), D2 (5,000 l ha-1), D3 (7,500 l ha-1), and D4 (10,000 l ha-1), with each treatment was replicated six times. Variables observed included plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, leaf color, and leaf area per pot. The results showed that the application of Organic Boost fertilizer had no significant effect (P>0.05) on any of the measured growth variables of Asystasia gangetica. However, the highest trend was observed for plant height at treatment D4 (10,000 l ha-1) at 69.67 cm, the number of leaves at D4 with 45.17 blades, leaf color at D4 with a score of 6.50, and leaf area per pot at D4 with 830.73 cm2. The number of branches showed the highest trend at treatment D1 with 6.83 branches. It can be concluded that the Organic Boost fertilizer was not yet able to significantly affect the growth of Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha, although the dose of 10,000 l ha-1 of Organic Boost fertilizer tended to result in the best growth of Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha. ABSTRAK Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha merupakan tanaman gulma yang berpotensi digunakan sebagai hijauan pakan ternak. Usaha meningkatkan produktivitas Asystasia gangetica dilakukan dengan penambahan unsur hara melalui pemupukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis pupuk Organic boost terhadap pertumbuhan Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di rumah kaca, di Desa Sading, Kecamatan Mengwi, Kabupaten Badung, Provinsi Bali yang berlangsung dari tanggal 20 April sampai dengan 20 Juni 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dosis pupuk Organic boost, yaitu: D0 (0 l ha-1), D1 (2.500 l ha-1), D2 (5.000 l ha-1), D3 (7.500 l ha-1), dan D4 (10.000 l ha-1), dan setiap perlakuan diulang enam kali. Variabel yang diamati, meliputi: tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah cabang, warna daun, dan luas daun per pot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Organic boost tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap seluruh variabel pertumbuhan Asystasia gangetica. Variabel tinggi tanaman menunjukkan hasil cenderung tertinggi pada perlakuan D4 (10.000 l ha-1) sebesar 69,67 cm, jumlah daun cenderung tertinggi pada perlakuan D4 sebanyak 45,17 helai, jumlah cabang cenderung tertinggi pada perlakuan D1 sebanyak 6,83 batang, warna daun cenderung tertinggi pada perlakuan D4 sebesar 6,50, dan luas daun per pot cenderung tertinggi pada perlakuan D4 sebesar 830,73 cm2. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pupuk Organic boost belum mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha dan dosis 10.000 l ha-1 pupuk Organic boost cenderung menghasilkan pertumbuhan Asystasia gangetica (L.) subsp. Micrantha terbaik.
