Abstract

This study discusses the design and development of a simple injection moulding machine for producing plastic bowls natural rubber using Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) as raw material. The machine employs a pneumatic system as its main actuator and includes a heating system and a two-plate mold. The primary objectives are to design a functional machine and to analyze the effects of varying injection temperatures (180°C, 190°C, 200°C) and holding times (40 and 50 seconds) on product quality. Results show that an injection temperature of 200°C with a holding time of 50 seconds yields the most optimal product in terms of dimensional accuracy and form stability. The developed machine proves to be effective, cost-efficient, and has strong potential as a learning tool in academic environments. Additionally, the use of recycled LDPE supports plastic waste reduction efforts, contributing to environmental sustainability.
