Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan minat belajar IPAS pada murid kelas V di UPT SPF SD Inpres Mallengkeri 2, Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 50 murid. Murid dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model Think Pair Share sejumlah 25 murid dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional sebanyak 25 murid. Pembelajaran menggunakan model Think Pair Share dilakukan selama dua pertemuan, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode ceramah. Sebelum dan setelah perlakuan, kedua kelompok diuji dengan pretest dan postest untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis serta minat belajar IPAS. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa model Think Pair Share berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan nilai sig. 0,017 dan minat belajar IPAS dengan nilai sig. 0,738. Secara simultan, model Think Pair Share juga memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap keduanya. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan minat belajar murid, sehingga dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar. This study aims to examine the effect of the Think Pair Share learning model on critical thinking skills and interest in learning Science and Social Studies (IPAS) among fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Mallengkeri 2, Makassar City. This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consists of 50 students, divided into two groups: an experimental class of 25 students using the Think Pair Share model and a control class of 25 students using conventional teaching methods. The Think Pair Share model was implemented over two sessions, while the control class used the lecture method. Before and after the intervention, both groups were tested with a pretest and posttest to measure critical thinking skills and interest in learning Science and Social Studies. Regression analysis results indicate that the Think Pair Share model has a positive and significant effect on improving critical thinking skills, with a significance value of 0.017, and on interest in learning Science and Social Studies, with a significance value of 0.738. Simultaneously, the Think Pair Share model also makes a substantial contribution to both aspects. These findings suggest that implementing the Think Pair Share model can enhance students' critical thinking skills and interest in learning, making it a viable approach to improving the quality of Science and Social Studies education in elementary schools.
