Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the condition of understanding. The condition of understanding and applying the Code of Ethics for Educators towards fellow Educators and students at SMPN 21 MATARAM, where this Code of Ethics is a set of moral principles that serve as guidelines or standards that must be adhered to and practiced by students and fellow Educators. This can affect the relationship between students and educators, educators with fellow educators, and even the social status of educators in the eyes of the community. In our research, we applied a qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation with students and educators at SMPN 21 Mataram. The observation results indicate that the understanding and application of the Code of Ethics by students towards educators at SMPN 21 Mataram are already optimal, requiring discipline and mutual respect from educators, and positively impacting the continuity of learning. Educators are expected to be disciplined, respectful, and to uphold the dignity and reputation of the educational institution. Educators who apply the code of ethics can create a comfortable and harmonious learning environment for students and educators. Educators will also be able to understand and implement the code of ethics that fosters relationships and interactions between educators and students, creating a comfortable, facilitative, and harmonious atmosphere at SMPN 21 Mataram.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter di sekolah Indonesia menghadapi tantangan mendalam dan multidimensional dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai esensial seperti toleransi, meritokrasi, dan disiplin, yang sering kali terhambat oleh pengaruh lingkungan eksternal yang kuat seperti media sosial dan dinamika sosial masyarakat, orientasi akademik yang dominan yang memprioritaskan prestasi ujian nasional daripada pembentukan moral, serta kurangnya teladan konkret dari orang tua, guru, dan pemimpin masyarakat yang sering kali menunjukkan inkonsistensi antara kata dan perbuatan. Guru mengalami kendala signifikan yang kompleks, mencakup keterbatasan kompetensi pedagogik akibat kurangnya pelatihan berkelanjutan dan spesifik, beban administratif berlebih dari tuntutan kurikulum Merdeka Belajar yang memakan waktu hingga 40% jam kerja, minimnya partisipasi orang tua karena kesibukan ekonomi dan perbedaan paradigma pendidikan rumah tangga versus sekolah, serta dampak negatif media digital yang membanjiri siswa dengan konten hedonistik, kekerasan, dan polarisasi yang menciptakan jurang nilai antara rumah dan sekolah. Teknologi menawarkan peluang sinergis yang inovatif melalui platform interaktif seperti permainan edukatif berbasis gamification, simulasi virtual reality untuk pengalaman empati, e-learning adaptif, dan proyek kolaboratif digital, meskipun memerlukan pengelolaan seimbang yang ketat untuk menghindari risiko apatis digital, kecanduan layar, dan degradasi interaksi sosial tatap muka. Artikel ini menganalisis tiga rumusan masalah utama secara komprehensif dan mendalam berdasarkan literatur terkini serta studi kasus empiris, dengan rekomendasi strategis seperti pelatihan guru terintegrasi berbasis teknologi, kolaborasi multi-stakeholder, dan pengembangan kurikulum hybrid untuk implementasi pendidikan karakter yang efektif dan berkelanjutan di era digital.
