Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) holds a strategic role in shaping students' morality and character amidst the challenges of globalization and the rise of extremist ideologies. This study aims to analyze the efforts to instill national values, tolerance, and anti-extremism through curricular and pedagogical transformations in PAI. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, the results indicate that national values can be integrated through Fiqh materials concerning obedience to the government and Islamic Cultural History that highlights the role of scholars in independence. Furthermore, tolerance (tasāmuh) is developed through an inclusive understanding of ukhuwah Islamiyah and religious moderation (Wasathiyyatul Islam). The success of internalizing these values heavily depends on the strategic role of PAI teachers as role models, school headmasters' policies that support an inclusive culture, and strong collaboration between schools, parents, and the community. The implementation of moderate PAI is a crucial key in building students' cognitive immunity against the appeal of radical ideologies to maintain the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

Abstract

Banjar traditional cuisine is not merely a means of physical fulfillment but also a symbolic medium containing historical, cultural, and Islamic values. This research aims to comprehensively examine Banjar culinary specialties through the lenses of concept, philosophy, identity, and Islamic educational values. Using a descriptive analysis method, this study explores how cooking and consumption practices function as non-formal Islamic education instruments for the community. The results indicate that the concept of Banjar cuisine is inseparable from the principle of halalan thayyiban, where eating activities are integrated with worship and the internalisation of values such as gratitude (syukur), simplicity (zuhud), and social solidarity (ukhuwwah). Identity is reflected through the use of local ingredients and ritual functions in religious ceremonies. Furthermore, culinary traditions serve as a "living curriculum" that instills characters of cleanliness, honesty, and persistence across generations. This study concludes that preserving Banjar cuisine is essential for strengthening Islamic character and cultural identity amidst the challenges of modernization.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the moral education values contained in Surah Al-Hujurāt verses 10–13 and Surah Al-Qalam verse 4, as well as their relevance to character formation in the modern era. The research focuses on essential principles of social ethics such as brotherhood, the prohibition of mockery, the avoidance of suspicion and backbiting, the affirmation of human equality, and the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the central model of moral education. This study employs a library research method by examining various tafsir books, academic journals, and scholarly works related to Islamic moral education. The findings indicate that these Qur’anic verses provide a comprehensive foundation for building noble character within educational settings, families, and society. Furthermore, they highlight the Qur’an’s role as a timeless source of moral guidance that remains highly relevant for shaping future generations with strong ethical values.
