Abstract

Literacy programs are an important effort in improving the quality of human resources, especially in rural areas where access to reading materials is still limited. This article discusses the Reading Corner initiative launched by KKNT 14 students in Gelam Village as a means of increasing community interest in reading. The program was implemented using a qualitative descriptive approach through the establishment of reading facilities, the procurement of books from donations, and literacy activities such as storytelling, reading aloud, and book discussions. The results showed a positive response from the community, marked by increased enthusiasm among children and the involvement of parents in reading activities. The Reading Corner is not only a learning space but also a forum for educational interaction that fosters a culture of literacy. The sustainability of the program is expected to be realized through the support of the Youth Organization and the village government, so that the Reading Corner can become a simple, participatory, and sustainable model for literacy development in rural areas.
