Abstract

Rapid digital transformation in Education 4.0 presents a profound challenge for Islamic Religious Education (PAI), exposing learners to digital dehumanization, algorithmic bias, and an ethical crisis. At the same time, existing institutional responses remain polarized between pure technocracy and reactive rejection. To address this gap, this study aims to reconstruct Kuntowijoyo’s Prophetic Social Science into a practical-pedagogical framework tailored for Education 4.0. Employing a qualitative library research design with a philosophical-hermeneutic approach and qualitative content analysis, the study systematically analyzed 35 scholarly documents, comprising 3 primary foundational works by Kuntowijoyo and 32 peer-reviewed secondary journal articles and books. The findings indicated that Humanization (Amar Ma'ruf), Liberation (Nahi Munkar), and Transcendence (Tu'minuna billah) could be operationalized across four functional pedagogical domains: teacher-role transformation, curriculum reconstruction, contextual learning methodologies, and authentic assessment. The resulting Prophetic Education 4.0 Model provides an actionable conceptual framework for cultivating critical, ethical, socially responsible, and spiritually grounded learners in digitally mediated educational environments.
