<![CDATA[Abstract This study aims to improve students' understanding of the material on changes in state of matter through the application of the inquiry learning model in grade V of SDN 11 Limboto Barat. The main problem faced is the low level of student understanding due to the use of conventional learning models that are less interesting, so students tend to be passive. To overcome this, the inquiry learning model is applied because it is able to encourage student activeness in discovering concepts through an exploratory process. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research instruments include observation, testing, and documentation. Data validity is tested by triangulation and checking by key informants. The results of the study show that in the pre-cycle stage, only 16% of students achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). After the application of the inquiry model, the average score of students in cycle I increased to 80, but did not reach the overall completion target. In cycle II, with an experimental strategy, the average score increased significantly to 90 with all students achieving the KKM. These results show that the inquiry learning model is effective in improving students' understanding of the material on changes in the state of matter.Keywords: Inquiry Learning Model, Changes in the State of Matter, Concept Understanding Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi perubahan wujud zat melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri di kelas V SDN 11 Limboto Barat. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya pemahaman siswa akibat penggunaan model pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang menarik, sehingga siswa cenderung pasif. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, model pembelajaran inkuiri diterapkan karena mampu mendorong keaktifan siswa dalam menemukan konsep melalui proses eksploratif. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Validitas data diuji dengan triangulasi dan pemeriksaan oleh informan kunci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap pra siklus, hanya 16% siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Setelah penerapan model inkuiri, nilai rata-rata siswa pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 80, namun belum mencapai target ketuntasan secara keseluruhan. Pada siklus II, dengan strategi eksperimen, nilai rata-rata meningkat signifikan menjadi 90 dengan seluruh siswa mencapai KKM.
