Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi metode Talking Stick dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa kelas 2 SD Muhammadiyah GKB 2 Gresik. Masalah yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran konvensional yang dominan ceramah sering menyebabkan siswa pasif dan bosan. Metode Talking Stick dipilih sebagai solusi karena sifatnya yang aktif, inovatif, kreatif, dan menyenangkan (PAIKEM), sehingga dapat mendorong siswa berani dalam berpendapat, melatih konsentrasi, serta mengasah keterampilan mendengarkan dan berpikir cepat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, melalui wawancara dengan guru PAI dan observasi langsung. Subjek penelitian adalah guru PAI dan siswa kelas 2 SD Muhammadiyah 2 GKB Gresik. Hasil observasi dan wawancara pada penelitian ini menunjukkan dampak yang positif dan signifikan, dimana siswa menjadi lebih berani dalam menjawab dan berpendapat karena adanya elemen kejutan dan tanggung jawab. Selain itu suasana belajar menjadi tidak kaku dan lebih menyenangkan serta mengurangi kebosanan. Elemen permainan juga meningkatkan semangat dan antusiasme siswa. Guru beralih peran menjadi motivator dan fasilitator, meningkatkan interaksi dan partisipasi merata. Meskipun ada tantangan seperti manajemen waktu dan dominasi siswa, metode ini terbukti efektif menumbuhkan tanggung jawab dan memetakan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Talking Stick efektif dalam meningkatkan keaktifan belajar PAI siswa SD Muhammadiyah GKB 2 Gresik.This study aims to examine the implementation of the Talking Stick method in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning to increase the activeness of second-grade students at Muhammadiyah Elementary School GKB 2 Gresik. The problem underlying this study is that conventional learning, which is dominated by lectures, often causes students to be passive and bored. The Talking Stick method was chosen as a solution because of its active, innovative, creative, and fun nature (PAIKEM), so it can encourage students to be brave in expressing their opinions, train concentration, and hone listening and quick thinking skills. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, through interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers and direct observation. The research subjects were Islamic Religious Education teachers and second-grade students at Muhammadiyah Elementary School 2 GKB Gresik. The results of observations and interviews in this study showed a positive and significant impact, where students became more courageous in answering and expressing their opinions due to the elements of surprise and responsibility. In addition, the learning atmosphere became less rigid and more enjoyable and reduced boredom. The game element also increased student enthusiasm and enthusiasm. Teachers shifted roles to become motivators and facilitators, increasing interaction and equal participation. Despite challenges such as time management and student dominance, this method proved effective in fostering responsibility and mapping student understanding. This study concludes that Talking Stick is effective in increasing the activeness of Islamic Education learning in Muhammadiyah GKB 2 Gresik Elementary School students
