ABSTRACT : This study examines the influence of bank opacity, credit risk, and the deposit ratio on bank credit growth, with wholesale funding acting as a moderating variable, in conventional commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019-2024 period. The sample comprises 14 conventional commercial banks, resulting in a total of 84 observations. Data were analyzed using multiple regression with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) implemented in SPSS version 27. The results indicate that: (1) bank opacity has a significant negative effect on credit growth; (2) credit risk has a significant negative effect on credit growth; (3) the deposit ratio has a significant positive effect on credit growth; (4) wholesale funding strengthens the negative effect of bank opacity on credit growth; (5) wholesale funding strengthens the negative effect of credit risk on credit growth; and (6) wholesale funding strengthens the positive effect of the deposit ratio on credit growth. The adjusted R2 value of 0.749 suggests that 74.9% of the variation in credit growth is explained by the proposed research model. The findings demonstrate that wholesale funding plays a significant role in reinforcing the interaction between internal bank factors and credit expansion capacity. Accordingly, bank management is required to balance the use of retail and non-retail funding sources in order to maintain financial stability and achieve sustainable credit growth.
