Abstract

This study analyzes job crafting practices among civil servants at the Department of Manpower and Transmigration of East Java Province (Disnakertrans Jatim). Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five purposively selected employees. Thematic analysis reveals that employees engage in all three dimensions of job crafting, though the extent of implementation varies. Relational crafting emerged as the most dominant dimension for strengthening social capital and work coordination. Cognitive crafting is utilized by employees to redefine the meaning of their work, while task crafting remains limited to informal adjustments due to bureaucratic constraints. These findings underscore that job crafting serves as a crucial mechanism for employee adaptability in the public sector. Practically, this study recommends the need for flexible organizational structures, increased autonomy, and enhanced inter-unit collaboration to optimize public service performance.

Abstract

Objective: The research aims to comprehensively understand the various psychological challenges in learning in the 21st century education era. This approach not only helps identify dominant research themes, but also uncovers research areas that are still rarely studied, so that it can provide a stronger basis for formulating further research directions in the field of learning psychology that supports the transformation of quality education SDG point 4.  Method: This research uses a literature study approach with bibliometric analysis methods to map the development of research related to psychological aspects in 21st century learning. Scopus data was obtained from 106 documents in 2016-2016 which were analyzed using the PRISMA design to determine the bibliometric distribution.  Results:  Research trends regarding psychological approaches to learning continue to increase in supporting 21st century education. Bibliometric analysis indicates that themes such as learning motivation, self-regulation, learner engagement, and experience-based learning are the main focus in current studies. Research contributions are also dominated by several countries that are actively developing pedagogical innovations to answer modern learning challenges.  Novelty: The findings of this research indicate that the integration of psychological aspects in learning design is very important to improve the quality of education in the 21st century. Educators need to implement a learning model that is student-centered and supports balanced cognitive, emotional and social development. In addition, the results of this research can be a basis for developing educational policies that pay more attention to psychological well-being in the learning process.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze research trends in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in digital and virtual science learning environments during the period 2015–2025. The analysis focuses on identifying dominant research themes, mapping the structure of the research field, and examining the evolution of research on the integration of digital technologies in science learning. Method: This study employed a bibliometric analysis of publications indexed in the Scopus database. The article selection process followed the PRISMA guidelines, yielding 101 documents for analysis. The study examined keyword co-occurrence, citation patterns, and thematic structures. Network, overlay, and density visualizations were conducted using VOSviewer to explore relationships between keywords and the temporal development of research topics. Results: The findings indicate that research on PBL in digital and virtual science learning is structured around core themes such as problem-based learning, students, e-learning, and virtual reality, which show strong interconnections. The temporal analysis reveals a shift from general educational contexts toward the integration of digital and immersive technologies, including virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. In addition, density and citation analyses highlight the central role of digital technology in shaping contemporary PBL research. In contrast, emerging topics such as machine learning and digital twins remain less explored. Novelty: This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric mapping of the convergence between PBL and digital–virtual technologies in science learning, revealing a conceptual shift toward intelligent and immersive learning environments and identifying emerging research opportunities.

Abstract

The digital transformation in education has driven increased attention to the application of problem-based learning (PBL) in technology-based mechanics learning. However, thematic developments, knowledge structures, and research directions in this field have not been systematically mapped. This study aims to analyze publication trends, knowledge network structures, and the development of research topics related to PBL in digital mechanics learning using a bibliometric approach. The research data consists of 189 documents indexed in the Scopus database for the period 2015–2025. Analysis of publication trends, geographic distribution, and relationships between keywords was conducted using VOSviewer software. The analysis results show an increase in the number of publications over the past decade, with contributions concentrated in several countries. Keyword mapping shows the relationship between PBL and topics such as e-learning, game-based learning, and terms related to computing technology such as machine learning and deep learning. Furthermore, temporal visualizations indicate changes in the trend of term usage over time. However, these findings are descriptive and reflect patterns in the analyzed literature, and therefore do not directly indicate a causal relationship or the level of conceptual integration between PBL and digital technology.  This research provides a contribution in the form of bibliometric mapping which can be the basis for further research to examine the implementation and integration of PBL in digital-based mechanics learning in more depth.

Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze research trends in technology-integrated problem-based learning (PBL) for physics problem-solving from 2015 to 2025. A quantitative bibliometric design was employed using the Scopus database as the primary data source. An initial search identified 49,401 documents, which were filtered using the PRISMA framework based on relevance, publication year, and screening criteria, yielding 154 publications for the final analysis. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer to examine publication trends, document types, subject areas, country contributions, and keyword co-occurrence networks. Additionally, the ten most highly cited articles were narratively reviewed to identify dominant research directions. The findings reveal a significant increase in publications, particularly in the last two years, indicating rapid growth in this field. Network and overlay visualizations show that problem-solving occupies a central position and is strongly connected to machine learning, deep learning, and intelligent learning systems. At the same time, PBL remains an emerging and less dominant theme. These findings indicate that although research on educational technologies in physics learning is rapidly expanding, the integration of Problem-Based Learning remains limited, highlighting an underexplored intersection between technological advancement and pedagogical implementation in physics education. The study concludes that this gap represents a key direction for future research in strengthening technology-integrated Problem-Based Learning to enhance students’ physics problem-solving skills.
