<![CDATA[Arthropoda memiliki peranan penting dalam menjaga ekosistem lingkungan, baik sebagai musuh alami hama, membantu proses penyerbukan tanaman, menjaga kesuburan tanah, sebagai bioindikator, dan beberapa dapat dikonsumsi karena memiliki kandungan gizi yang baik. Indonesia merupakan daerah tropis bersuhu sedang dengan ekosistem yang mendukung berkembangnya hewan jenis Arthropoda. Namun, ciri fisik dan cara Arthropoda melindungi diri melalui gigitan dan sengatan, cenderung membuat pelajar/anak-anak membatasi ruang untuk mengamati Arthropoda secara langsung. Hal inilah yang mendorong beberapa kalangan untuk merancang berbagai media sebagai upaya memperkenalkan jenis hewan Arthropoda kepada generasi muda/pelajar, khususnya anak-anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi kreatif perancangan buku anak tentang hewan endemik Indonesia filum Arthropoda melalui eksplorasi teknik pop-up. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penciptaan seni dari Wallas yang terdiri dari preparation (persiapan), incubation (pengeraman), illumination (tahap inspirasi), dan verification (pengujian). Sementara, eksplorasi pop-up akan berfokus pada teknik v-folding dan internal stand. Hasil perancangan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknis pop-up dapat tampil dinamis melalui optimalisasi penggunaan ukuran bidang kertas, dengan tetap memegang prinsip bahwa bidang pop-up tetap dapat tersimpan rapi pada saat halaman buku ditutup.Kata kunci: Arthropoda; buku; pop-up; endemik Indonesia---Exploration of Pop-up Techniques in Designing a Children’s Book about Indonesia’s Endemic Arthropods. Arthropods play a crucial role in maintaining the environmental ecosystem, both as natural enemies of pests, aiding in plant pollination, contributing to soil fertility, as bioindicators, and some can be consumed because of their good nutritional content. Indonesia is a temperate tropical region with an ecosystem that supports the growth of arthropods. However, due to their protective behaviors (like bites and stings), observing arthropods directly can be challenging for students and children. To address this, various groups are designing various media to introduce arthropods to the younger generation/students, especially children. This research explores creative strategies for designing children's books featuring Indonesia's endemic arthropods, using pop-up techniques. This research uses Wallas' art creation method which consists of preparation, incubation, illumination (inspiration stage), and verification (testing). Meanwhile, pop-up exploration will focus on v-folding and internal stand techniques. The results of this design show that the technical application of pop-ups can appear dynamic through the optimization of paper size, while maintaining the principle that the pop-up can still be neatly stored when the book is closed.Keywords: arthropods; books; pop-up; Indonesia’s endemic]]>
