Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning conditions of functions and analyze the effectiveness of GeoGebra-assisted Discovery Learning in improving high school students' conceptual understanding. The study used a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including classroom observations, interviews with mathematics teachers, and documentation of 32 eleventh grade students. The results indicate that the use of GeoGebra increased student engagement through dynamic and interactive graphic visualizations, helping students explore the relationship between function equations and graph changes more clearly. Students appeared more active in discussions, were able to articulate conceptual reasoning, and demonstrated improvements in interpreting graphical and algebraic representations. The stages of Discovery Learning and the teacher's role as a facilitator also contributed significantly to the effectiveness of the learning. Overall, the integration of GeoGebra has been shown to support deeper conceptual understanding and has positive implications for the development of technology based mathematics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman serta pandangan generasi muda terhadap konsep pernikahan dalam perspektif Islam dan implementasinya pada era modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 30 responden yang termasuk dalam kategori generasi muda. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari 20 pernyataan yang menggunakan skala Likert dengan empat pilihan jawaban, yaitu sangat tidak setuju, tidak setuju, setuju, dan sangat setuju. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak IBM SPSS Statistics dengan teknik analisis deskriptif, uji validitas, dan uji reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa generasi muda memiliki pemahaman yang cukup baik mengenai konsep pernikahan dalam perspektif Islam. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh dominasi jawaban responden pada kategori setuju dan sangat setuju pada sebagian besar indikator penelitian. Selain itu, hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penelitian memiliki tingkat reliabilitas yang tinggi dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,883. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa generasi muda memandang pernikahan sebagai institusi penting yang tidak hanya memiliki dimensi sosial, tetapi juga dimensi religius sebagai bentuk ibadah yang bertujuan membangun keluarga yang sakinah, mawaddah, dan rahmah.

Abstract

Understanding the concept of angles is an essential part of learning geometry; however, it remains a common difficulty for students. This study aims to analyze students’ understanding of angle concepts in mathematics learning at UPT SMP Negeri 14 Medan. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through observation and written tests. The sample consisted of 27 seventh-grade students selected using purposive sampling. Students’ understanding was analyzed based on four aspects: basic conceptual understanding, representation ability, computational ability, and application ability. The results showed that basic conceptual understanding was in the good category (81%), representation ability was in the low category (37%), computational ability was in the moderate category (67%), and application ability was also in the moderate category (70%). These findings indicate that students have a good understanding of basic concepts; however, they still experience difficulties in representing and applying these concepts optimally. Therefore, it is necessary to implement learning strategies that emphasize the development of representation skills and problem-solving abilities in order to enhance students’ understanding of angle concepts in a more comprehensive and meaningful way.
