Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of the National Narcotics Agency of Bengkulu City in preventing drug abuse. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive research type. Data obtained through the of non-participant observation, interview, and documentation. Based on field data, the National Narcotics Agency of Bengkulu City has carried out its role and responsibility well to increase public awareness of the dangers of drugs, following the role of the National Narcotics Agency of Bengkulu City in preventing drug abuse includes: (1) Act as an extension of the government to become a socialization facilitator or extension on the impact of drug dangers and the negative effects caused by drug abuse. (2) Empowering the community to participate in carrying out drug abuse prevention activities in the surrounding area. (3) Play a role as a coordinator for the preparation of annual work plans in the prevention of drug abuse in carrying out coordination meetings with related agencies such as POLRI, Health Office and related institutions to prevent drug abuse in Bengkulu city.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS remains a serious threat among Indonesian adolescents due to poor health literacy, particularly in Bengkulu City with 102 new cases in 2025. This study aimed to enhance HIV/AIDS knowledge among students of SMK Negeri 1 Bengkulu City through educational outreach. Quantitative quasi-experimental pre-test post-test one-   group design was employed. Population comprised all grade 10-12 students (n=500), with purposive sample of 60 students. Instrument was 5-item multiple-choice questionnaire, analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test (SPSS 26, p<0.05). Results demonstrated significant knowledge improvement from pre-test mean 40.33 (SD=19.99) to post-test 81.50 (SD=12.19), p=0.000. Conclusion: The outreach effectively built understanding of HIV definition, transmission, prevention, and inclusive attitudes toward PLWHA, contributing to HIV spread control in Bengkulu.

Abstract

Coastal communities are a social group whose livelihoods are highly dependent on marine resource-based economic activities. This situation creates a predominantly informal employment structure characterized by long working hours and uncertain incomes. This situation has the potential to impact the community's level of social participation in community life. This study aims to analyze the relationship between employment status and the level of social participation in the Malabero coastal community, Bengkulu City. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. A total of 175 respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Kendall's Tau correlation test. The results indicate that the level of social participation in the Malabero coastal community is in the low (weak) correlation category. The correlation test results show a Kendall's Tau coefficient of τ = –0.241 with a significance value of p = 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between employment status and level of social participation. The negative direction of the relationship indicates that the higher the demands of employment status, the lower the level of social participation. These findings suggest that employment status is a significant factor influencing the social involvement of coastal communities. Therefore, social policies and programs are needed that are adaptive to the working conditions of coastal communities in order to increase social participation without ignoring the economic needs of the community.

Abstract

Menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan bagian penting dalam mendukung proses tumbuh kembang anak sejak dini. Kurangnya pengetahuan serta kebiasaan menyikat gigi yang tidak tepat dapat memicu berbagai gangguan kesehatan gigi, seperti karies dan bau mulut. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, dilakukan program edukasi kesehatan gigi di TK Aisyiyah Kota Bengkulu dengan tujuan meningkatkan pemahaman anak-anak tentang pentingnya merawat kesehatan gigi dan mulut sejak usia dini. Kegiatan ini menerapkan metode praktik langsung dan simulasi kepada anak-anak TK untuk membantu mereka memahami cara merawat kebersihan gigi dengan benar. Dari kegiatan yang melibatkan 22 peserta, terlihat adanya peningkatan kemampuan dan pengetahuan anak mengenai teknik menyikat gigi yang benar serta kesadaran mereka akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut.
