Abstract

Di era informasi yang semakin kompleks, kemampuan teknis saja tidak lagi memadai karena pustakawan harus menghadapi berbagai jenis pengguna perpustakaan dan beban kerja yang berat. Karena berperan dalam mengendalikan emosi, memfasilitasi komunikasi interpersonal yang sukses, dan menjaga kualitas layanan perpustakaan, kecerdasan emosional sangat penting bagi pustakawan. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah konsep kecerdasan emosional pustakawan sebagaimana didefinisikan dalam berbagai literatur, yang memiliki pengertian dan ruang lingkup berbeda dengan tujuan penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana kecerdasan emosional dapat meningkatkan profesionalisme pustakawan, khususnya dalam bidang manajemen stres, keterampilan interpersonal, dan kepuasan pengguna perpustakaan. Berfokus pada konsep kecerdasan emosional pustakawan sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam berbagai literatur yang bervariasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur yang melibatkan pengumpulan sumber-sumber ilmiah yang relevan dari buku, jurnal, dan publikasi akademik. Sumber-sumber tersebut kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan dipilih berdasarkan relevansi topik sebelum hasilnya disintesis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional secara signifikan meningkatkan profesionalisme pustakawan, terutama dalam hal kemampuan mereka untuk mengelola stres dan emosi secara efektif, berkomunikasi, serta membangun hubungan positif dengan pengguna perpustakaan. Dalam meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional bisa dilakukan melalui pelatihan dan pendidikan berkelanjutan sebagai langkah strategis untuk membantu mencapai tujuan meningkatkan kualitas layanan perpustakaan.

Abstract

Religious conversion in multicultural urban societies is not only a matter of theological change but also a personal search for meaning and the restoration of subjective well-being. Theresearch aimedto analyze how religious conversion functions as a psychological adaptive strategy in responding to crises of meaning and the demands of urban modernity. Using a qualitativephenomenological approach, this research exploredhow these converts experienced religious conversion and how the process relates to changes in their subjective well-being. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews that examined their life experiences before and after conversion, their search for meaning, social relationships, and perceived emotional changes. The data were analyzed using interpretive thematic analysis informed by theories of subjective well-being, psychological well-being, religious coping, and religious conversion. The findings showedthat before conversion, participants experienced inner anxiety, a sense of meaninglessness, and emotional imbalance. Conversion to Islam was perceived as an adaptive response to existential crisis, leading to greater inner peace, life satisfaction, and clarity of purpose. Local Dayak and Banjar cultural values acted as cultural bridges that allowed the integration of Islam without severing cultural identity. In the post-conversion phase, support from the Muslim community, particularly through the Indonesian Convert Center, played a significant role in restoring and stabilizing the participants’ subjective well-being. These findings highlight the importance of culturally sensitive, inclusive, and psychologically oriented assistance for converts in urban multicultural contexts.

Abstract

Information search skills are one of the skills that must be mastered by a student. Information seeking ability is the ability possessed by individuals in utilizing digital media and other search tools effectively. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the application of the Ellis model in understanding students' information search behavior based on articles or studies that have been conducted. The Ellis model information search method is one of various types of information search methods. The literature study method was chosen by the researcher in reviewing and examining the literature in the form of scientific articles relevant to the research topic, especially related to student information search with the David Ellis Model. A total of 23 scientific articles obtained from journal databases such as Google Scholar, Garuda, and Scopus with a publication period of the last 6 years were collected and analyzed how information search activities were carried out by students. The information search model according to Ellis has six stages, namely, starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring, and extracting. The results showed that Ellis' model is one of the methods used by students to search for information related to lecture assignments using internet-based or online information media facilities. Information search activities have become part of student life.
