Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meal Program (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) to the framework of Maqashid Shariah, with a particular focus on the principle of Hifz al-Nafs (protection of life). As a strategic national policy regulated through the Decree of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency No. 63 of 2025, MBG is designed to address malnutrition and improve human resource quality. This research seeks to examine whether the program substantively aligns with Islamic ethical objectives centered on human welfare and life preservation. This study employs a qualitative normative approach using a maqashid-based policy analysis. Data were collected through a systematic review of policy documents, including technical guidelines of MBG, official government reports, and relevant academic literature on Maqashid Shariah and public health policy. The analytical framework is grounded in classical and contemporary Maqashid Shariah theory, emphasizing Hifz al-Nafs as a primary objective (daruriyyat). Data were analyzed inductively through thematic coding to identify policy components that reflect life protection and health security. The findings indicate that MBG demonstrates strong alignment with Hifz al-Nafs through strict hygiene standards, targeted nutrition for vulnerable groups, quality control mechanisms, and balanced nutrient provision based on recommended dietary allowances. The program also indirectly supports Hifz al-‘Aql and Hifz al-Nasl by enhancing cognitive development and safeguarding future generations. However, challenges remain regarding implementation consistency and regional capacity. The study concludes that MBG is substantively relevant to Maqashid Shariah, particularly Hifz al-Nafs, positioning the program as both a public health intervention and an ethical instrument for societal welfare. Integrating Maqashid Shariah into policy evaluation provides a normative foundation for strengthening equitable and sustainable nutrition policies.

Abstract

The low level of pedagogical competence and the limited ability of teachers at SMP Tahfidzul Qur’an Paleran to design innovative, contextual, and Qur’an-based learning devices highlight the urgent need to enhance teachers’ professional capacity through practical training aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. The In-House Training (IHT) program was implemented as a strategic effort to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical understanding, technological integration skills, and the development of learning tools relevant to students’ characteristics and Islamic educational values. This training aimed to equip teachers with practical skills in designing differentiated lesson plans (RPP), integrating simple digital technologies, and developing interactive learning media that support 21st-century learning. The program adopted a participatory and product-oriented approach, conducted at SMP Tahfidzul Qur’an Paleran, Jember. The activities consisted of three main stages: preparation, implementation through thematic workshops, and formative evaluation using observation, pre-test, and post-test instruments. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of innovative learning design, digital media utilization, and the application of project- and problem-based learning models. Approximately 90% of participants actively engaged in discussions and successfully produced lesson plans and digital media aligned with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) indicators. The program also fostered professional collaboration and reflective practice among teachers. It is recommended that continuous mentoring be provided through professional learning communities and the development of IHT models integrating Islamic values and educational technology to enhance teachers’ adaptability to digital transformation in education.

Abstract

The decline in deposit growth within Islamic banks has raised concerns about customer loyalty and relationship management effectiveness. This study aims to examine the influence of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) on customer intention to deposit money at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Riau, with public trust as a moderating variable. A quantitative survey method was employed, involving 210 respondents who are active or potential deposit customers of BSI. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 4. The results reveal that CRM has a significant positive effect on customers’ deposit intentions (β = 0.48, p < 0.001), while public trust also exerts a positive influence (β = 0.29, p < 0.01). Furthermore, public trust moderates the relationship between CRM and deposit intention (β = 0.21, p < 0.05), indicating that trust enhances the effectiveness of CRM strategies. The novelty of this research lies in integrating public trust as a moderating factor in the relationship between CRM and deposit intention within the Islamic banking context. The study recommends that BSI strengthen its CRM through transparent communication, ethical service delivery, and digital engagement to foster customer trust and sustain deposit growth.
