Abstract

Hemodialysis is the most common method used to treat chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, it is still accompanied by increasing morbidity and mortality, with cardiovascular disorders as the main cause of death. Hemodialysis can lead to decreased capacity and functional muscle mass, inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and bone mineral disease (cardiovascular disorders). Exercise or activity programs during hemodialysis (intradialytic) come in many forms, all aimed at improving muscle mass, bone strength, cardiorespiratory health, physical fitness, and enhancing the quality of life. This study will systematically review previous journals discussing the impact of training or physical activity on chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis, regarding all factors that can improve the quality of life for CKD patients undergoing HD. The literature search process was conducted on research from the last 5 years (2016-2020) in English selected from several indexed electronic databases (Scopus, Science Direct, CINAHL, Pubmed, Oxford, SAGE). A search using a search engine yielded a total of 301 articles, and after screening, 13 were selected based on criteria and were of RCT research design. The results of the studies show that the appropriate and safe selection of intradialytic exercise for patients, without requiring extra time, can improve physical activity and sleep quality, leg muscle mass, stimulate bone alkaline phosphatase which can prevent osteoporosis, lower blood pressure, improve respiratory function and functional capacity, enhance physical function, reduce inflammation, improve nutrition, increase bone mineral density, improve exercise tolerance, increase Kt/V, enhance serum creatinine clearance, blood urea, and serum potassium phosphate. The positive impact of exercise during hemodialysis will result in an improved quality of life, and a decrease in morbidity and mortality in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. Abstract

Abstract: Background: High Blood Pressure is still a global health problem. Non-pharmacological efforts such as handgrip exercise and slow deep breathing (SDB) can lower blood pressure. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of a combination or each of these exercises in lowering blood pressure in hypertension sufferers. Methods: A systematic review was identified in three databases Google Scholar and Pubmed (2020–2025) using the search terms “Hypertension OR Blood Pressure AND Elderly AND Handgrip Exercise AND Slow Deep Breathing.” Risk of bias assessment using JBI Critical Appraisal Tools. Data were extracted by researchers and analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: 1,070 articles after duplicate removal and screening obtained 280 reports to be retrieved 90 articles were assessed for eligibility in depth then 10 articles were selected for review using PICOT, Isometric handgrip exercise intensity 30% MVC for 8–20 weeks is effective in reducing systolic blood pressure (SBP) significantly. SDB exercise of 6 breaths per minute showed a decrease in SBP of up to 18.17 mmHg through increased parasympathetic activity and baroreceptor stimulation. Conclusion: There is a decrease in blood pressure in patients with stage one hypertension. Future researchers are expected to examine the young age group to see the effectiveness of early hypertension prevention considering the increasing trend of cases in productive age.

Abstract

Nurse job satisfaction is an essential indicator of healthcare quality influenced by various organizational factors. This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the job satisfaction of inpatient ward nurses at RSU Nurusyifa Kudus. This quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted from October to December 2025. The sample consisted of 43 inpatient nurses selected via total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the majority of respondents were aged >31 years (65.1%), female (74.4%), held a Bachelor of Nursing (Ners) degree (62.8%), and felt moderately satisfied (48.8%). Simultaneously, compensation, interpersonal relationships, leadership style, and work motivation significantly affected job satisfaction ( ; ). Partially, compensation ( ) and interpersonal relationships ( ) had significant effects, whereas leadership style ( ) and work motivation ( ) had no significant effects. In conclusion, compensation and interpersonal relationships are the dominant factors influencing nurse job satisfaction. Hospital management is advised to evaluate the compensation system and maintain a harmonious working climate to enhance nurses' job satisfaction.
