Abstract

Introduction: Bullying in schools, marked by power imbalance, significantly impacts students’ mental health and increases the risk of depression. Preventive efforts through awareness programs and educational interventions are essential to equip adolescents with skills to address and resist bullying. Objective: The purpose of this activity is to provide information to students, guidance counselors, and student affairs administrators about the impact of bullying on students' mental health. Method: This activity began with bullying screening for all students at SMP N 1 Jatinom Klaten. After all students completed the screening, the researchers analyzed the results and consulted and discussed them with the vice principal for student affairs and guidance counselors to determine which students needed education on bullying issues. Following that, the researchers delivered a 45-minute socialization session together with the Vice Principal for Student Affairs, guidance counselors, and 15 students. The material was presented using PowerPoint with a lecture and discussion method for 30 minutes. Result: The results of this activity from the bullying screening showed that 15 students were victims and perpetrators of bullying. For the participants of the socialization, especially the students, they became more aware of the dangers of bullying to a person's mental health. Conclusion: The overall conclusion of this community service activity shows the effectiveness of the educational approach in improving students' understanding of the phenomenon of bullying and its consequences for mental health.

Abstract

The preschool period (3-5 years old) is a critical period in children's physical development, especially gross motor skills, which involve controlling large muscles for activities such as walking, running and jumping. Optimal development in this phase is very important as a foundation for future physical skills. The living environment, including play facilities and social interaction in housing, is thought to influence children's motor stimulation. This research aims to identify and describe the level of gross motor development of preschool-age children in the specific environment of the Symphony Banguntapan Housing Complex, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The research population included all children aged 3-5 years who lived in the Symphony Banguntapan Housing Complex, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The sampling technique was carried out by total sampling or purposive sampling. Data was collected through direct observation using an instrument in the form of a standard gross motor development checklist (DDST II/Denver Developmental Screening Test II). Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics to present data in the form of frequency distributions and percentages to determine categories of development level. The research results showed that the majority of preschool children at Symphony Banguntapan Housing had a level of gross motor development in the "normal" category 34 children (89.5%) and it was also found that the percentage of children in the "suspect" category was 4 children (10.5%). The conclusion is that the level of gross motor development of preschool age children at the Symphony Banguntapan Bantul Housing Complex in Yogyakarta is generally in the normal category and in accordance with the development norms for children their age.
