Abstract

This study examines the practice of buying and selling followers on social media from the perspective of Islamic law. This phenomenon is one of the impacts of the digital revolution, where the number of followers is often considered an indicator of popularity, influence, and credibility. This situation has led to the emergence of buying and selling followers as an instant way to increase the number of followers. However, this phenomenon raises various questions, including the transaction mechanisms, its validity according to Islamic law, and its social and moral implications. This study employs a literature review method to gather relevant data and information.The findings indicate that the mechanisms of buying and selling followers are often non-transparent, sparking debates about their compliance with Islamic principles. From the perspective of Islamic law, some scholars view this practice as inconsistent with the principles of honesty and fairness in transactions. Moreover, its social and moral impacts have the potential to undermine social norms and digital integrity. In conclusion, the practice of buying and selling followers requires thorough evaluation and a prudent approach in alignment with Islamic principles. This study aims to serve as a guide for the public to understand this phenomenon comprehensively and in accordance with Islamic values. Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas praktik jual beli followers di media sosial dalam perspektif hukum Islam. Fenomena ini merupakan salah satu dampak revolusi digital, di mana jumlah followers sering dianggap sebagai indikator popularitas, pengaruh, dan kredibilitas. Kondisi ini memicu munculnya praktik jual beli followers sebagai cara instan untuk meningkatkan jumlah pengikut. Namun, fenomena tersebut menimbulkan berbagai pertanyaan, termasuk mekanisme transaksinya, keabsahan menurut hukum Islam, serta dampak sosial dan moralnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur untuk mengumpulkan data dan informasi yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mekanisme jual beli followers sering kali tidak transparan, memicu perdebatan mengenai kesesuaiannya dengan prinsip syariah. Dalam pandangan hukum Islam, praktik ini dinilai sebagian ulama tidak sejalan dengan prinsip kejujuran dan keadilan dalam transaksi. Selain itu, dampak sosial dan moralnya berpotensi merusak norma sosial serta integritas di dunia digital. Kesimpulannya, praktik jual beli followers memerlukan evaluasi mendalam dan pendekatan bijak sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip syariah. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi panduan bagi masyarakat untuk memahami fenomena tersebut secara mendalam dan sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam.
