Abstract

The communities living along the riverbanks are highly vulnerable to flooding, especially in urban areas with high populations. Kampung Warna-Warni Jodipan, a community situated along the Brantas River in Malang City, is vulnerable to frequent flooding and faces challenges related to evacuation planning, access to information, and community preparedness. This program intends to enhance community preparedness through digital mapping, capacity building, and strengthening community organizations. Implemented from September to November 2025, the program took a community-based approach that included field surveys, discussions with the community, disaster mitigation education, evacuation training, and disaster simulation. Evacuation routes, assembly points, and health facilities were mapped and developed into a digital evacuation map accessible through a web-based platform and Android application. A Flood Disaster Evacuation Task Force was organized at the community level to support disaster management and centralized coordination. Results indicated significant enhancement in the preparedness of the communities. At the end of the training, the average knowledge score of the participants increased from 73 to 82, while more than 85% of the participants achieved the targeted competency level. Digital evacuation maps increase access to clear and reliable evacuation information, while the establishment of a task force strengthens coordination and sustainability of preparedness efforts. With the results obtained, this program could enhance the resilience of the Kampung Warna-Warni community to flooding.
