Abstract

Nowadays, four-wheeled vehicle with the brand of Mitsubishi are not that well known to people of Samarinda. Two of the main reasons are, there are many other brands that are more popular than Mitsubishi and also the dull interior design of the showroom. Those issues then heavily affect the showroom sales of Mitsubishi. To overcome this issue, an intriguing design for the showroom is needed for Mitsubishi to make the brand stands out from its competitors.This showroom interior design of Mitsubishi in Samarinda presents the modern contemporary style composed with a “Fun and Cozy” concept that will make the showroom gives a distinguished impression and unique characteristic to customers in Samarinda. The use of natural materials will add to the modern contemporary style and also to help make the users, mainly customers and staffs, to feel extra comfortable during their visits and working hours.The design process of the showroom starts with the programming phase that includes the field data gathered from surveys and interview with the owner of the showroom. Then next is the making of design schematic, and finished with the final design phase.

Abstract

The scheme of indoor modular meuble as material support for pop-up market. Designer chose this topic because of the fact that pop-up market grow quickly nowadays to give online shop’s tenant a place where they can sell their product for real, consument can look the quality’s product directly, and initial capital of real shop is more expensive, so writer make design that answer the needs. A design that can be apart and be brought easily. The concepts are modular, futuristic, meuble. A meuble that give positive value to some related parties. Concept’s applications found in shape, color, and construction’s system. The purposes of this meuble-making are to know the user’s activities and give answers to the needs, best materials’ choice, good display-construction system, and making interesting booth display innovation. The data collection methods with do some observations and interviews. After that, designer starts to analyze the information and start to make the design from schematic until fix design transformation, which will be prototyped in 1:1 scale. The purposes of this meuble-making are to know the user’s activities and give the answer for the needs, choose the best materials and good display-construction system, making interesting booth display innovation

Abstract

The elderly is the final phase of human life. At this phase, human change is prominent both physically and mentally, therefore extra care is needed to improve the welfare of elderly people. Family plays an essential role in caring for the elderly and helping the elderly to reach the available resources in order to meet the needs of their life. However, due to current development in this modern era and increasing demands of life, the habits of children or families to take care of their elderly parents are decreasing rapidly. Changes within the family structure are causing the family to consider that the existence of elderly is a burden.The interior design of the Usia Anugerah Nursing Home aims to fulfill all the needs of the elderly who do not receive special attention from their family. This design uses an analytical method by conducting field observation and interviewing directly as well as interacting with the elderly to clearly know the problems occurred. The Design of the Usia Anugerah Nursing Home uses the Healing  Environment approach in form of a garden in order to overcome hollow nest syndrome which gives negative impact on the elderly. In addition, the concept implementation of "Serve with Heart" is applied in the design in order to provide a sense of comfort and positive influence while in the nursing home.

Abstract

Nowadays, the existence of plastic waste on earth has become a threat to the environment, including Indonesia. The rapid growth of the amount of plastic waste makes it an even more urgent problem to be solved. However, Indonesia’s waste management and processing system are yet to be proven as effective. The utilization of plastic waste in the creative industry is also very low, especially in the interior sector. As an interior designer, this is the gap to create innovations in the interior sector, by using many kinds of recycled plastic materials for the interior product. This design process will use the design thinking method created by D. School, which consist of a few processes such as empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and implement. The products produced are a coffee table, stool, chair, table lamp and wall art as introduction products to educate people that products made from recycled materials can become a wide variety of interior products. The end results of this thesis are three series of furniture, and all three used different characteristics of recycled plastic materials, which are composite plastic with sawdust, opaque plastic combined with transparent plastic, and full opaque plastic. These plastics became a variation on the interior products that are made from wood and iron. With contrast color palettes and diverse technique, the plastic variation can become the products’ focal-point, so the character of the plastic can be optimized.
