Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of academic supervision in improving the performance of Islamic religious education teachers in madrasas. The quality of teachers as the spearhead of educational institutions is very important for the continuity of the learning process. Therefore, teacher performance not only needs to be motivated, but also facilitated and monitored on an ongoing basis. Academic supervision includes planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation aimed at improving the quality of education. The steps taken by the madrasa head in academic supervision include problem identification, problem analysis, and formulating and implementing appropriate solutions. The research results show that effective supervision management can increase the number of academic activities carried out by teachers, as well as contribute to improving student performance. Apart from that, the challenges faced by teachers, such as time management and workload, are also important factors that influence their performance. Thus, this research recommends the need for collaboration between supervisors, madrasa heads, and all teaching staff to achieve maximum performance in the learning process. Through planned and directed supervision, it is hoped that a better and more effective learning environment can be created for students at madrasas.
