Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) education at the elementary school level often faces challenges in engaging students, particularly due to the reliance on text-based delivery methods that can lack interactivity. One solution to enhance students' reading interest is the use of animated videos as an engaging and interactive learning medium. This study adopts a qualitative approach through literature review to explore the role of animated videos in increasing students' reading interest in Social Studies education. Data is collected by analyzing relevant literature, including books, journals, and other academic articles. The findings indicate that animated videos can motivate students to take a greater interest in the subject matter, strengthen their understanding through clearer visualizations, and support a more interactive learning experience. Therefore, animated videos can be considered an effective teaching method for improving literacy and conceptual understanding in Social Studies.
