This study aims to produce a Smart Box learning media that is valid, practical, and effective for teaching Mathematics, particularly on the topic of Equivalent Fractions for fourth-grade elementary school students. The research is based on issues identified through preliminary observations and interviews. This is a development research employing the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this study were a classroom teacher and fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 175746 Adiankoting. The object of the research is the Smart Box learning media designed for teaching Mathematics on equivalent fractions. Data collection techniques used in this study include observation, interviews, tests, and questionnaires. The instruments used were teacher interview sheets, material validation questionnaires, media validation questionnaires, practitioner validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest questions. Based on the results, the material expert validation reached a percentage of 94.6%, categorized as “highly appropriate.” Meanwhile, the media design expert validation scored 87.6%, also categorized as “highly appropriate.” For media practicality, the educational practitioner validation yielded a percentage of 92.9%, categorized as “highly practical,” and the student response questionnaire scored 94.3%, also in the “highly practical” category. Regarding media effectiveness, the average student score increased from 32.29 (categorized as “not yet competent”) before using the media to 83.33 (categorized as “competent”) after its use. The N-Gain score calculated from pretest and posttest results was 0.78, with an N-Gain percentage of 77.60%, interpreted as “effective.”
