Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mastery of English vocabulary of fifth grade students of SDN Soreang 01, especially on the material “Parts of Our Body”. As a solution, the Circuit Learning model assisted by Canva media was applied to improve students' vocabulary mastery. This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, including planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 33 students of class VA. The instruments used consisted of multiple choice tests and observation sheets of student and teacher activities. The results showed that the learning model used was effective in improving vocabulary mastery. In the pre-cycle stage, only 21.21% of students reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) with an average score of 54.09%. After the implementation in cycle I, the average score increased to 71.66% and the classical completeness to 48.48%. Student and teacher activities reached 73.61% and 75% respectively. Improvements were made in cycle II, resulting in an average score of 87.12% with classical completeness of 90.91%. Student activity increased to 93.06% and teacher activity reached 94.44%. Based on these results, the application of the Circuit Learning model assisted by Canva media proved to be effective in improving elementary school students' mastery of English vocabulary.
